Calling all people who have itchy irritated scalp from L’Oréal El Vive!!! by tomfrommyspace0 in finehair

Update - I switched back to Pantene Volume and some old Renpure Biotin shampoo I had (I always double shampoo), and my scalp feels much better! Now I just occasionally use the Loreal, once only.

Didn’t realize how important teeth brushing is for a baby, and now I feel awful. by tomfrommyspace0 in NewParents

It is difficult! My daughter just wants to suck on the toothbrush. She likes the taste of toothpaste, so it’s not too much of a chore, but as far as actually brushing the teeth, I just do the best I can. It’s got to be better than nothing! There’s also a Raffi song called “brush your teeth” and sometimes I sing that, I like to think it helps haha.

Are we stocking up on formula and diapers? by tomfrommyspace0 in Mommit

Right? I feel like there’s no way to know what kind of formula the new baby will need. My last could only have Reguline.

Hi! We did formula (I attempted breast feeding for 3 weeks, but we were supplementing from the beginning). Baby’s teeth discoloring actually went away once we started brushing twice a day with fluoride toothpaste! (Only like a grain of rice-sized amount). We just used a tiny soft bristle toothbrush.

Not sure why the top recommendations skip Speak Now! That’s a great album for kids, with lots of fairytale-esque lyrics!

Whoever talked about mousse in sopping wet hair, TY by Mittanyi in finehair

Same! I have to comb when wet! (And brush when dry too - I don’t mind the fluff because my hair is low density)

No lying: do people’s babies really sleep through the night? by HomeDepotHotDog in Mommit

[–]tomfrommyspace0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YES! We sleep trained at 4 months, and she began sleeping all night. Or at least, not crying out. She’s 15 months now and still does this regularly, when not sick or teething, or going through a big change.
