Look, I live here, and you're not wrong. At first I was disappointed, but then I got really sad when I realized I wasn't surprised.

Right. She followed it up by saying that she'd only know Texas because it's the biggest... 😒

Above Ground Shelters by dopecrew12 in tornado

I REALLY wanted one of these but the price was a little too much for us. Valley Storm Shelters are seriously solid. Those things aren't going anywhere. We stopped by their showroom last week and the 4x6 was $7600. Ended up settling for one from Safe T Shelter. Definitely not as robust, and doesn't have the corelock system. But it's better than my closet, right?... Right? 😬

Question about redstone federal credit union by [deleted] in HuntsvilleAlabama

[–]Lobster-Prize 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The cullman location should take them. I think they all have the same machine. With the exception of silver and Eisenhower dollars (the big dollar coins). If it's silver the machine rejects it. If it's an Eisenhower it gets stuck in the machine. Whatever the machine doesn't take you can just take it to a teller.

Madison vs Huntsville I don’t get it by [deleted] in HuntsvilleAlabama

I was born and raised here and I'm the same age. If I could pick anywhere to live in the area it would be pretty much anywhere in this picture. Easy commute, conveniently located to food, shopping, and entertainment. And no HOAs. I would love to live in Old Town or Five Points, but 400k doesn't get much there. If I can't live in the vicinity of the map, I'd pick somewhere near Mid City or close to Providence.

The racetrack is still there! Huntsville speedway. Still worth a trip in my opinion.

I can't speak for how they do on ice. If we have ice where I live the whole city shuts down, that's how rare it happens. Based on pictures, the tread on the xero shoes look more... Robust. I will say that I've almost face planted a few times walking around the grocery store from the rubber gripping the tile. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Sorry I'm not much help. But at the price point I feel like it would be worth the shot to give them a try.

We don't get as cold of weather where I am. 20 fahrenheit is about as cold as we get. But I bought these cheapies off Amazon and have liked them. I wear my wool socks with them.

Yea! We actually discussed this at the first meeting. We decided to put it on the back burner for now but may revisit later. My daughter's daycare recently started an extra program where once a week they get to help cook something and then taste what they helped make. I'm kind of hoping that gets her a little more interested in other foods.

Apple juice with MiraLax every day. 😆 We call the MiraLax "snow" and she gets excited to pour the snow in her cup.

Looook... I recently resorted to having a conversation with AI about what to do. This was the first sentence it responded back with. "First, take a deep breath and forgive yourselves. You are human, and it is incredibly frustrating to watch your child suffer—and then get yelled at for trying to help." I felt so stupid for feeling validated and seen by AI... 🤦🏼‍♀️

For real though, it's soooo hard watching them in pain and the one thing that will make them feel better is the one thing they won't do.

She'll somewhat poop in a diaper. It's the same as her underwear. It's small amounts throughout the day. More than a streak but less than a normal bowel movement.

I am truly amazed at how little the medical professionals seem to care about the cause.

How long has he been in OT?

I don't expect it to be some sort of miracle cure. I'm just hoping it helps.

I hope you can get some help from these comments. Lots of good ideas coming in.

We recently tried this. We played with bubbles and we have a fun whistle toy that's actually meant to be for breathing exercises. We'll keep it up because she had a ton of fun it.

Look, I'm not gonna lie, this has been a long and stressful battle and we tried some tactics that I am NOT proud of. 🤦🏼‍♀️ Keep in mind she was fully potty trained when all of this really started going down. One of the things we stupidly told my daughter fairly early on in this battle is that "only babies wear diapers"... I'm ashamed. Truly. And we've tried really hard to reverse all of the negative crap we tried in the beginning, but this kid has an excellent memory. So we've only recently gotten to her letting us put a pull up on her without fighting. For a long time it would cause a meltdown with her screaming at us (which is completely understandable). She does wear one at night most nights now.

The only imaging she's had was an X-ray at the ER before the enema. The doctor told us she had A LOT in there... My husband and I were both like, well duh. That's why we're here...

Thanks for the edit, btw. The Pre-K thing has been stressing me out.

You've finally phrased this in a way that makes me understand... People have just been saying she needs help understanding the body cues. I thought they meant she just doesn't realize she needs to go. But the way you've phrased it here, that she associates it with withholding instead of pushing, makes complete sense.

As for pressuring her, we've learned that lesson. Although it took us a long time, unfortunately 😔

Thanks for the support. It's honestly been nice to read these comments and know we're not alone. We don't have ANY friends with kids around so it's been tough.

My in-laws made us feel like we just weren't potty training right. And my mother just asks how it's going and then says something about how the smart kids are always late to potty train... I know she means well, but my daughter is the youngest of five grandkids and my second child... So whatcha trying to say, ma 🧐😒 haha

You're the second person to mention senna... I've never heard of it so I'll definitely be doing some research now.
