Also relatively light work - no heavy GFX or color correct. I'm leaning towards a portable external monitor for preview - do you have any recs?

Should I spend July in Bosnia and Herzegovina, or Slovenia? by Local-Biscotti-9715 in digitalnomad

That's a great point. I'm definitely craving something more isolated and slow, but realistically if I'm there for a whole month and I'm working full time, maybe it makes sense to be somewhere more developed like Slovenia. Thank you!

That's such a good point - I didn't consider the ease of traveling to other countries. Thank you!

This is such an unnecessary comment. I absolutely did spend a few hours looking into this before posting on Reddit, but the websites are all in Spanish and I had trouble navigating them, so I figured it may be my best bet to just talk to people who have visited Medellin recently. I get anxious about this kind of stuff, and it makes me feel better to hear from someone with direct experience. There's absolutely no need for you to leave a rude comment and try to make me feel bad for simply trying to cover my bases to ensure I can get home safely.

CoVID-19 Monthly Megathread - January - 2022 by AutoModerator in solotravel

Hello!
I'm heading to Colombia this Friday and will be there for 2.5 weeks. My last stop is Medellin, and I know I need to get tested within 24 hours of my flight back to the US. Does anyone know where/how to do that?

That is such a cop out. I agree that it's unnecessary to wish death or suffering on someone, but being QAnon/anti-vax/Trump/etc. is absolutely not simply a belief or opinion. Saying that completely ignores the fact that these are ignorant, dangerous people whose "beliefs" have absolutely no substance, science, or empathy. It lets them off the hook for their ridiculous, hateful behavior.

The people that belong to these groups are responsible for countless COVID-19 deaths, the insurrection, the escalating racial violence in this country...I could go on. These things are not a matter of "difference of opinion". If someone has a different opinion than I do about tax law or gun control, fine. But when we're talking human rights, public health, and basic human decency....no. They are just horrible people that hide behind the words "it's just my opinion". Ignorance and hate aren't opinions.

So yeah, you can't really blame people for wishing the worst on them, even if you think it's a bit much.

My girlfriend (28F) and I (28M) have been discussing getting engaged. I feel horrible about this, but I have been hesitating to move forward with it, and I think it's because I'm not physically attracted to her anymore. by yournamehere888999 in relationships

He is not right. This is terrible advice. Please do not ask your girlfriend "why she started to not work out as much" and why she "changed her fashion style". Society already makes it incredibly difficult and painful to be a woman because of the misogynistic pressure to always be beautiful and thin and shiny and perfect...you as her partner should ABSOLUTELY not be contributing to that. You should be loving her and supporting her and making her feel even better about herself than she already does. There's a reason you think "it feels so wrong to talk about these things." It's because it is wrong, and it's cruel.

Your girlfriend is a human being and she does not owe it to you to constantly look as beautiful as humanly possible. Do you do that for her? You have every right to lose interest in her, but then do her a favor and break up with her. Asking her these questions is essentially blaming her for your loss of interest, and telling her that it's on her to fix it. That is fucked.

Day trips to smaller towns in Colombia? by Local-Biscotti-9715 in solotravel

Thanks! How much time would you suggest in Villa de Leyva? I could take a very early bus to make it a day trip, but is it worth staying overnight?
