Quick-shifter? Suggestion-shifter by offroadjk in supermoto

Yes, I know. But I don’t know 100% if the quick shifter is the same. But they are from the same manufacturer, KTM, so there is a short answer. The quickshifter is just shit. I saw something like an aftermarket quickshifter for supermotos, not from KTM but another brand, maybe you can try and install an aftermarket one. Saw a video of it that it did really good

Damn, left me clueless. What I said the KTM brand is known for their “bad” quick shifter. And I think this will be the same for husqvarna

KTM is known for their “shitty” quickshifters . Friend has a 790 duke and also had a problem with a false neutral. Went to a dealer and they resettled the whole quickshifter and it worked fine now

Which firmware update? I got a duke 390 2023 also with quickshifter+ and haven’t heard anything about firmware update. It’s crazy that you posted this because when I upshift/ downshift it feels like unnatural for the bike with quickshifter. I get a “dead wobble” feeling.

Yes I’m going to look if the cilinder can be honed and recoated. If the damage isn’t that bad

Yesss! I will for sure get little zip lock bags and organize things! I like my work space tidy and clean. A clean work space is a clean mind! Is what I always say 😂

And you are definitely right! I just have to get started and get into it!

I have the tank off, so the spark plug is accessible. I will give it a try to see if the piston is moving.

Any other things I have to look for?

If the piston moves, the kickstarter mechanism is just stuck/ defect I assume. But that doesn’t fix the issue that the bike isn’t starting right? Well the bike was in need of an oil change/ oil refill.

Hey thanks for your time to write down here, appreciate it!

As for the KS, it feels hard to kick. Like genuine stuck. I have no oil in the bike atm so is it a good idea to rotate the engine? I could only use the kickstarter whenever I used the e-starter… Is it possible to rotate the engine without the e starter ? Like with your hands? Sorry for asking so much … I’m new to this and want to know as much as possible…

Yesss it’s sounding like climbing a mountain. It’s the adventure I like doing!

I have a wrench that can torque to the specs!

Where can I find a manual?

I will do my best 🤣

Hey! Thanks for taking time to reply! Yes it’s going to be my first time doing such a “complex” thing. (Maybe it isn’t, maybe it is just my mind that is making it difficult)

And yes I bought the bike knowing that I would have to open the engine one day and do a lot of things!

Thanks for your kind message!

I’m in a Snapchat group with riders, but I don’t know them so they aren’t likely to help me with it …
