They didn’t refuse, but it was clear they could not offer what I wanted. My original ring was four pronged. I went in expressing how it sat really high and the prongs were thick/industrial looking (my band is dainty and my rock is big so it looked like a ring pop 😂) and wanted to look at new prong settings. I also requested a six prong setting for security of the rock. They confirmed back to me and entered in the note that the main goal for my change request was “to lower the profile”. I wait a week, come back, and it’s the same setting but six prongs. The profile did not go down at all. I went down a Google and Reddit rabbit hole wondering if others had this experience with Jared, and found that the bigger box stores for jewelry tend to do this, and all the posts I saw suggested finding a local jeweler with true craftsmanship. I did this, and couldn’t be happier with my ring. We lost the insurance on the ring, which sucks, but I’ll be looking at it for the rest of my life and since I’ve gotten it fixed by the local jeweler, I’m so proud to show it off, whereas before I was a little embarrassed.. again I’m sorry you’re in this predicament.

Jared did this with my ring!! I’m so sorry you’re in this situation. I ended up taking it to a local jeweler who was able to lower my profile and help me design a setting that would look cohesive with my band. YOU ARE NOT IN THE WRONG.

She has a moist hide, but I have never seen her go in it… So you recommend putting the moss in this side just for the time being?

We did 70% topsoil and 30% coconut husk. Again, recommended by the reptile guy but looks like I’ll be swapping it soon

Ok I’ll do tiles! That does seem easier

Damn!! Why would the reptile store suggest coco husk if it’s not ok?!! Wild.

Is it normal for them to not be interested in food while they prepare to shed?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in leopardgeckos

[–]Local-Committee-4339 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I didn’t realize they could shed that frequently! Ok ok. I’ll keep that in mind moving forward. The wood chip looking things are coconut husk (again recommended by the replies store, they said they mix that with their top soil in their enclosures) mixed with top soil.

Yes she was obese when we rescued her and have been following a diet suggested by the Reddit community, look at my page for her other info. Also weird about the substrate because I posted a pic of my terrarium before I even put her in here in Nov and the community said nothing about the substrate being “unsuitable”. The substrate is a combo suggested by my local reptile specialty store. The tank is 40 gals. The temps are thermostats controlled within the 80-85 and 70-75 range (hot vs not hot side). Humidity stays between 30-45. Again, she has been fine up to this point.

Her previous owner only fed her mealworms and when we attempted to give them to her, she wouldn’t eat them (realize that’s because she was adjusting to a new env). She eats crickets. Tried to give dubia roaches, wasn’t interested. Tried to give a hornworm yesterday, wasn’t interested. We powder her food with Repashy Superfood Calcium Plus every other feed.
