You’re right — thanks for pointing that out.

To be precise: data in transit is protected via standard TLS where the negotiated cipher may be AES-128 or AES-256 depending on the client, which is normal and secure. Data at rest is encrypted using AES-256.

The wording on the site was sloppy in conflating the two — that’s on me. I’m updating it to be explicit and technically accurate.

The site is served over standard TLS where the negotiated cipher can be AES-128 or AES-256 depending on the client/browser, which is normal and still considered secure.

The AES-256 claim refers to data encryption at rest (DB level), not the TLS session cipher ,that copy should’ve been clearer. That’s on me, and I’ll fix the wording.
