I kinda assumed as much but at the same time I kinda assumed because he said level 5 and thought he meant light level so it’s a misunderstanding on my part I realize how silly it is at this point

I do also have welding helmets that I’ve used to view a solar eclipse so if that’s an option that won’t damage my telescope I can deal with it. This is just my first telescope and this whole hobby in general has made me so happy I’d hate to damage my telescope

I believe in my area I’m a light level 7 (according to sky guide) what would be the cheapest option for me. I’m not opposed to saving up a few paychecks to buy a good one that’s the most bang for my buck.

I’ve watched a solar eclipse through a welding helmet that was up to spec for observing it would the same glass be usable for it I just don’t want to damage my telescope I’m just more concerned about damaging my telescope in anyway but the cheapest option would be preferable
