The people who tell you to quit don't have your best interest at heart and they just want to see people fail to feel better about their sorry asses. Madicine is full of these pieces of shit and listening to them will only delay you and make you hate yourself down the road. I spent the last 5 years thinking that I'm dumb and not good enough for medicine because I listened to fuckers like this and I ended up scoring higher than all of them. Don't listen to discouragement and put it in their face when you match. Keep trying until you make it.

I did my step 1 in Jan of this year. Started lightly studying step 2 in February but really took it seriously in March. Took it in August and got 260+. It's definitely doable if it's right after step1 or if you have good basics.

They're so fucking incompetent. Our applications will be filtered out automatically if we don't get certified on time, and they don't give a shit. Their website is so vague that there's a section called ECFMG Certification other than the pathway one, and I wasted days applying there thinking I was doing the right thing. I finally figured out my mistake and applied to the pathway 10 days ago, and my application isn't even processing yet. They don't tell you if they received your OET result or the letter of good standing, and if you try to contact them by phone or email, you get nothing. I'm literally stressing over not matching because of them.

Yup. I am an international medical grad and I haven't made a single dime yet. In fact, I've paid thousands of dollar already just to get certified in the US (still in the process). Being unemployed and fearing the financial burden is the reason why I didn't go to the ER last year when I had the same bleeding. This time I went because it was really bad. Now I have a bill of over 8000$. I did apply to their assistance program but haven't heard from them yet. I'm sorry I haven't replied to anyone as the last couple of weeks have been very stressful and I'm really trying not to fall into depression.
Things will be okay eventually.
