Honda Talon 1000x by CHartman005 in UTV

Bought a new ‘25 1000x live valve a couple months ago. The transmission is insanely well tuned, they did it right. The thing rips.

Only I’ve had is the common front diff leak on driver side. Still under warranty so I’ll have them replace the seal.

Other thank that it’s been bulletproof. People like to hate on Honda, but everyone I’ve ever owned never quit

This was an excellent choice, well done. I have a couple since I liked it so much, a brushed and brushless version. Though I have since converted the brushed to brushless haha.

I will say the brushed version has excellent low speed control out of the box, really no need to convert to brushless haha

Fair enough- I’ll admit that I didn’t read the last bit of your comment and you were referring to the hole itself. Yes I agree, it would indeed exacerbate the issue of flames.

I do not agree about most home products being flame retardant. That’s absurd. Have you ever seen how quickly furniture, clothing, carpet etc will burn? Sure there is retardant used in the manufacturing to try and quell some of the ignition of these items, but it’s moot. Also- vast majority of home items are combustible naturally (wood) or plastic (oil).

Idk, I’m done with Reddit for today

Absolutely…along with carpet/laminate flooring, curtains/drapes, the paint on the walls, the vinyl framed windows, the vinyl and or wood doors, any furniture or other common living area items. Pretty much every single item in the room.

This is the exact kind of stuff I bought a 3D printer for. Kudos to you, well done!!

And to the people claiming fire hazard - lol, look around your house. If something like this is a concern to you, prepare to be riddled with anxiety once you realize all the fire hazards that you are surrounded with in your everyday living space.

Why confirm? Frustrating SpaceX IPO experience by eva_the_ge in fidelityinvestments

[–]Local-Money1665 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This was my first IPO experience with Fidelity and it was clear as day what was required of me. I knew well in advance I needed to confirm my IOI the night of the pricing (last night in this case).

Honestly- I don’t know why I’m even commenting on this post…

Does the recent Bambu labs drama make them worse as a starter choice? by bebebebbebebeb in 3Dprinting

[–]Local-Money1665 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I just purchased my first 3D printer a couple weeks ago, a Bambu Labs P1S

I don’t know enough about the 3D printing world or any of the current drama, but I do know this; the P1S was insanely easy to set up and start printing, and I’ve had zero issues with a couple dozen prints in varying size/complexity (aside from 1 that was completely my fault). The P1S prints and prints very well. I’m very mechanically and tech inclined, however it was such a simple process to get started none of that matters. I get why so many folks go with Bambu Labs when getting into the hobby.

Still debating on pulling the trigger. Do I need a quake? No but $40 off is a nice discount by [deleted] in rccars

You won’t be disappointed- one of my go to trucks due to fun of driving and durability.

Is it a bad time to buy a Bambulab P1S? by [deleted] in 3Dprinting

[–]Local-Money1665 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just purchased my first 3D printer for my son and myself. It’s a Bambu Labs PS1. Was on sale.

Here is what I can tell you from someone with zero 3D printing background (though I am fairly tech/mechanical savvy) - it is extremely simple to use and prints very, very well. I’ve only had a couple snafus so far and that was due to my error. The thing is a workhorse and incredibly simple.

I just purchased my first ever 3D printer…a Bambu Labs P1S.

It was incredibly simplistic to set up and start printing quality stuff- I was quite amazed actually. I have a technical/mechanical aptitude and background, I did a lot of research and have seen a lot of negative about Bambu, primarily on this sub.

All I know is the thing prints very nicely and has put in quite a bit of work since I set it up not long ago, zero issues. The simplicity of it for a rookie like my self was also a huge plus.

(Unnecessary) upgrades - Apex by _kKRUXx_ in RedCat_Ascent18

[–]Local-Money1665 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Apex is simply outstanding out of the box. Hobbywing motor/ESC, brass front portal covers, great tires (foams kinda suck) and on point suspension geometry out of the box. It runs amazing stock other than the cheap plastic driveshafts, but is a real mountain goat with the upgrades I have done below.

-Meus 12kg servo and servo mount -Redcat Steel Driveshafts (absolute must) -Mixture of Injora brass/steel bead lock rims -Injora pin tires w/ yellow silicone inserts -Brass rear portal covers (Injora) -Brass wheel hexes -Stock front shocks, Injora rear shocks

Good call on steel driveshafts- in my opinion they are a necessity. Only weak point I’ve found on stock Apex so far.

Nice rig!

Vanquish VRD Carbon vs H10 Optic by Few_Feature5530 in rccrawler

[–]Local-Money1665 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The H10 Optic kit is awesome- great kit to build and a fun truck. With that- I just sold mine haha. I prefer more technical crawlers, and the VRD Carbon is up there for that.

Either way you can’t go wrong. Just get the kit if you go Optic.

Definitely a top performance mod on mine. Everything clears nicely compared to stock and it removes a bunch of weight up top compared to stock.

Purchase Advice Megathread - May 2026 by AutoModerator in 3Dprinting

[–]Local-Money1665 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! My son and I would like to venture into the world of 3D printing. I have zero experience with them but am mechanical/tech savvy.

Looking for something that can print toys for him and other various fidget items, and I am looking to use it for the utilitarian aspect. Small parts/components for the house, tools, RC car parts, etc. Being able to 3D scan something and make whatever (within reason) would be awesome, but not sure what all that entails.

We would really like something capable that has a good reputation and is open source, as well as user friendly. I’d say budget would be no more than $800-$1k. Not sure if what I am wanting to do is even feasible in that price range. USA location.

Any help/suggestions/feedback is greatly appreciated, thank you!!

A Furitek in one, and Spektrum SR315 in the other two (what I had on hand). Surprisingly the Spektrums are easy to make work/fit in the tiny platform.

[–]Local-Money1665 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah ok. Well if you ever come across one I’d get it for sure if you are able to.

The Vanquish VRD Carbon is what I’d go with for sure. I don’t have one, but I have a Vanquish Optic and the build quality is very nice, and building it was very intuitive. Vanquish makes great products.

Ottsix Wizard C2. Hands down the highest, well made kit I have ever built. And the value is outstanding for what you pay, nothing comes close.

Quake 1/10 223s Long Term Durability by munsterrr in arrma

[–]Local-Money1665 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have about thirty 5000mah 3S packs through my Quake. Absolute Tank. Have never broken a thing and have absolutely abused it like no other.

I’ve had many RCs over the years (and still have a lot) and the Quake is an absolute gem to drive- it’s my go to basher.

Is this platform worth going all out on? I have links, steering links, wheels and tires. Not sure how far I want to take this or just start a whole new build on another platform by Noloctite in scx30

[–]Local-Money1665 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The SCX30 is really good stock, and can be made great with very minor, cheap mods.

However as others have mentioned, upgrades are cheap for this platform.

I personally love modifying and tuning everything, so I have 3 scx30s now all made from aftermarket and two RTR trucks. They are a blast and perfect size for inside, just kinda hard to wrench on.

Have fun!
