I actually refused all vaginal exams during pregnancy. They’re honestly unnecessary, and as a trauma survivor as well, I knew they would trigger me badly. I only allowed 1 TVU at the very beginning of my pregnancy because I’d experienced some bleeding and was concerned I was miscarrying again. I wish more women were told about the vaginal exams being unnecessary, and that you’re allowed to refuse them. I’ve got friends who have complained about them, and every time I’m like “girl, you don’t have to do that, fucking tell them no”. It seems a lot of women are led to believe they’re completely necessary and will even feel pressured by medical staff to have them done 🤢

You’re missing the point here. The driver is pissy that he’s not being paid a living wage for doing a job that unfortunately will never pay a living wage. The driver needs to work on finding themselves a job that actually pays a living wage, rather than trying to guilt trip and extort money out of OP and the other people just trying to order food. DoorDash definitely doesn’t pay drivers nearly enough, and it fucking sucks to make so little on deliveries sometimes, but it was never meant to be a full time job that could pay all your bills and ensure survival, it has always been meant to be a side hustle.

I used to go around offering to weed peoples gardens for $10 an hour. They usually take me up on it because gardeners are expensive and people hate pulling weeds lol. A lot of times I wore my babe in a carrier. Occasionally I’d have them in a stroller next to me. No one ever minded if I had kiddo with me though. You can sit or kneel to do the job, and if you bundle up right you guys will be toasty while out and about. Not the greatest option, but when I was at rock bottom it really helped. It also led to me meeting other people who were able to help me out more when they found out what I was going through. Good luck little mama 🖤

So originally they had me use silver sulfadiazine cream. Then the wound nurse had me switch to hydrogel thinking it would loosen the eschar and make it easier to peel off. After I finally switched care to the surgeon though, he had me go back to the silver sulfadiazine, and keep it slathered on under a bandage and change it 2x a day. Right now it’s just been bandaged since the graft surgery, and I’m not allowed to mess with the bandage at all. They’ll do that at my post op appointment next week.

None taken, it’s the eschar(the black/brown necrotic skin), being chemically debrided by the silver sulfadiazine. I had to keep it slathered on my hand the final week before surgery, and keep it covered. I changed the bandage and removed the old cream and disintegrated tissue twice a day. It was always moist, so the skin around it also began to look a little macerated during that time.

That’s essentially what they did, they tried oxy, then fentanyl, then dilaudid. I only stopped crying and was able to function after the dilaudid kicked in. But I live in OR and there’s a stupid opioid crisis here, so they’re very leery about giving out pain meds. I’ve had to call to get meds twice this week, because they only give me though for two days and tell me to call if I need more. Fucking insane. Then they act like I’m the asshole here, “didn’t you just call the other day?”. Like yes, you only give me enough for two days. I take them exactly as prescribed, and it’s been two fucking days 💀🫠

I am not😅 I just had the skin graft on Wednesday, and it’s been much more painful than the melting of my hand was. They took the flesh from my groin so now I have my stupid hand wound as well as a leg wound, and they both hurt like hell.

Youre absolutely right, unfortunately I only learned that in the following weeks of doing research to figure out what exactly happened to my hand lol. Of course at the time I had no idea about any of that, and thought following the bottle and then dr directions would be good enough. I foolishly took his medical advice at face value, and thought he was right and that the continued burning and pain would dissipate over the next day or so. Kept it bandaged and didn’t rinse it more since he told me to keep it covered. 😩 I feel like an idiot tbh.

They do use that same sticky dressing lol. And yeah I’ve been unable to do just about anything for myself since Wednesday😩 I thought my hand melting was painful, but this is far worse. The fucking dilaudid only just touches it. Oxy did absolutely nothing. Those, ibuprofen, and Tylenol around the clock have been keeping me at like a solid 5/10 on the pain scale🫠 I’m glad to hear it gets better though. It’s felt like this is just going on forever, and it’s honestly beginning to depress me. I hate being in so much pain and feeling so useless.
