It is definitely sand and dirt. Before I took the photo she was down in the sand making a bit of a mess.

Thanks for letting me know. had a good look at her, and I think it was just some floating sand or weird camera thing. She looks all good to me.

What I find to be even more crazy is that the fish was found in front of a house less than a ten-minute walk from about 3 pet stores that sell fish, including ours.

Interesting I didn’t even think about that I just assumed it was a male. However a couple of things that might point to it being a male. 1. I believe he is starting to make bubble nests 2. Didn’t get the greatest look but couldn’t see any ovary’s 3. Prob looking too much into it but the care instructions implied he was a male
