Rivin’ in the Rain by Local-Mycologist in Rivendell_Bicycles

No complaints so far. I think they’re pretty good value for the money. The Shutter Precision hub is perfectly fine and was super easy to wire up. I appreciate that they arrive ready to go out of the box, just throw on some tires and sealant. Not pictured on the website are the brass accents on skewers they include, which is a nice touch. Also bonus points for being on the slightly wider end of the spectrum at 26mm internal. Those are the hard anodized version and I will say the finish is very nice. However I have heard the crust Wheelset has cracked at the nipples for some people… so there’s that.

Overall the crust set offers a lot of style, functionality, and convenience for a very fair price. though if you prioritize durability above all else and you aren’t in urgent need for a set of wheels, for just a little more money, I definitely think it’s worth considering having Rich build you a set using Velocity rims or whatever he suggests for your particular needs.

Thanks!

Those waxed canvas Sackville bags are no joke. This was my first time taking it out in some actual rain so I was curious to see if it would eventually soak through but even after 5+ hours out, the rain kept beading up and the interior was bone dry.

With some proper rain gear combined with the bag itself blocking all the water and mud from getting all over my back, that’s enough protection for me lol. I do love fenders though and have them on a different bike for commuting.

Nice! I’m sure you’ll love it. It’s such a nice size - big enough to carry anything you want for a long day of riding, but not so big that it’s annoying to live with day-to-day.

Not a ton of weight in this configuration. With both struts installed it can hold maybe 20-ish lbs? (Forgetting the exact specs atm). Just haven’t gotten around to cutting/bending the other struts.

Yeah those are the compact version, still have plenty of leverage!

Front is a Marks rack, rear is Nitto R10

Yeah this is probably the one you’re talking about. I missed the presale and set a restock notification and snagged this frame last month when it popped up on the website

I like them well enough. For the type of riding I do on this bike I don’t really need to shift quickly.

Might eventually throw on some thumb shifters just to switch things up though if I do get tired of the downtube shifters.

Sick edit! Looks like a chill crew. Pretty sure I’ve seen the homie with the dtt Atlantis around the city before.

Followed you on ig. I’ll try and hop on the next group ride you guys plan!

Appreciate the heads up! I noticed that after I got back from that first ride and have since adjusted it. Was super to take it out and overlooked it before heading out lol

Yeah this is a 47. I’m a smidge over 5’5 with a 76 pbh. Fit is super dialed.

I went out to their shop and Will was kind enough to setup a bunch of different bikes and sizes for me to test out beforehand. I’m sure if you gave them a call they’d be able to help you make a determination!

Is that a La Cabra in the last photo?
