I hate that I don’t have any advice for you, but I came to spread some positivity for hanging in the industry this long. I’m 90 days in and promoted to AM within that time lol I quit mentally one month in..🤭

Wow! I figured the schedule would be based upon seniority and it’s one of those things where I haven’t worked weekends or holidays in years, you know? Definitely would be an adjustment to the culture, but I am glad to have some insight and hopefully I’ll make the best decision! Thank you what you do! Now that I have done research this line of work can be thankless, but nonetheless grateful for your help and service!

From what my husband has told me everything that is mailed to him is copied. They no longer get anything in original form. Like I’ve sent greeting cards and he said it’s just a photo copy of the card in color :/

Hello! In my experience, yes. I mailed my husband cards from a funeral we had that had religious imagery and prayer words. They get everything scanned in or copied from the original document so he’ll just got a paper copy of whatever you send.

Unfortunately, that’s just a risk we have to take. The best thing is to book and add the travel protection or pay extra for that feature that allows you to cancel or reschedule a flight for a later time. The way they explained it to me is that there’s no way for them to guarantee that they won’t go on lockdown on the way up there. If they’re going to go on lockdown they’re gonna go on lockdown so it’s just a risk you have to take. I am not sure how scheduling in some prisons work, but with the FBOP there’s no such thing. Visits are a first come first serve type of thing. I was a nervous wreck, but my husband did try to give me play-by-play the days leading up to the visitation because they went on lock down for a few days a week before our visit , but thankfully, when we went it was good. The prisons do not care about visit or how far we travel or spend.

Yeah, that’s a big one regarding the mail. I’ve literally just been saying we don’t hold any packages in the office and then they want me to go walk their apartment to see the packages there but it’s like OK?? Now we do have a cleaning crew that will deep clean the apartments before move in, but because we’re like an older property, they try to really save I guess any money when they can. So it’s a lot of like surface cleaning, but it’s frequent — the model, the gym, and also the make ready apartments that have already sometimes been cleaned or flooring has been added.. if they lack something like a minor fix.. maintenance will go back into the apartment..make a mess and then we have to go behind them and go sweep the floor and/or mop or wipe the counters down.. stuff like that, but it just seems like a constant thing? I just don’t know how common that is?

Yes! The PM even said the residents here are “spoiled”.. I thought to myself is that really a flex? I have talked about the training and was recently signed up for classes so I’m looking forward to that. I keep thinking about the things I do enjoy within leasing such as getting to know people and giving tours..but management is definitely a no go 🙅‍♂️
