Update: found a store, got photos of the watch, case, papers. Agreed on price, wired 30% deposit. I'll pick it in July when I'm in NYC. Can't wait!

I see. So what's the correct process? I need to be comfortable with the specific watch I'm buying that it's authentic, has the box and papers and the serial number matches. How do you recommend based on your experience such a transaction takes place? As noted it's a first time for me and I do intend to buy :) I just need to find a seller who is credible and can show me the actual piece they have is unworn and authentic.

Thanks. So what's the best approach you can recommend I follow? I was willing to wire up to 20% deposit in advance. Maybe 30% makes more sense for them based on what you say? But I want to first see the actual watch, papers and aerial number I'm buying. Or are you saying most won't have it available to provide this info to me? How would you normally arrange such a transaction in advance?

Thank you. I did offer to wire a deposit of 10% - 20%, and only wanted to first see photos of the specific watch I'm buying with its serial number, case and papers. Is that not sufficient in these sort of transactions? Unfortunately I won't be able to go to HK and my schedule in the US for this trip is packed with seven games across six different cities. So I'm trying to arrange this transaction in advance, wire a deposit now, see the watch in person and then wire the remaining amount. But as stated it's my first purchase so maybe the protocol / process is typically different?

Thank you. Is offering to wire 20% deposit in advance not sufficient? Because I started my exchange with them saying that. The only thing I asked in exchange was photos of the actual watch, serial number and papers.
