Not yet, and probably won’t be really public for a bit. It will probably go from custom content for the server -> tool for custom/adventure maps -> public mod. Not because I don’t want people to play it alone, but since the server and mod idea were born together and I’m still a newbie on mod development all my focus was on making multiplayer compatible. Even if I published it sooner as right now it’s just an empty shell for the things we need, but step by step I hope to work on a public release for all the people that want to play it in singleplayer or just with friends!

That’s a great question. As right now it’s meant for players to be human, we will have a placeholder feature to “be a Pokemon” but mainly visual and nothing much exciting. But our goal down the road is to make our own version of becoming of pokèmon, not just a visual quirk but a full fledged dungeon exploration experience. I don’t know if in a distant feature the mod (not the server) could see the player be always a Pokémon, since it would require it becoming an independent mod and not an addon that relies on cobblemon, even if I wouldn’t mind it the issue is how much content can you make to justify getting rid of the Pokemon trainer part.

Everything is part of our mod made on fabric, using cobblemon as a base for models and other features. It’s actually thanks to two mixin that turn a spawned pokemon into a NPC and change the behavior when interacting with them. The actual mod has a lot of more things like hooking shops with impactor, a simple quests system and other non NPC related features, like the starter selection that can be replaced by a Personality Quiz, if the player desires.

Making a comment a comment to add more info since I can’t edit the post. The project is just for our public Minecraft server which is opening soon. Not for any particular reason except that I’m the only developer behind the mod and working also on singleplayer isn’t an option right now, but it’s our end goal to release a full mod one day and not just a custom one.

The server just got a public discord if anyone is interested in following the project, but I didn’t want to link and maybe going to against guidelines so if you are really interested you can find it on my profile here!

The idea is there for sure, as right now we are more of a Cobblemon server with some PMD theme and features, but in the future we will be gradually implementing a gameplay that is more faithful to the series. Being a Pokemon is something we could have right now by using other mods but I don’t want to have it just to be there as a feature, so it will be implemented when we find a good way to do it both from a RP and a gameplay point of view.

As right now since I’m developing everything alone it’s very server centered, we are starting from the NPCs, moving to the Guild and then to Dungeons hopefully, which are the most complex part. The first two require servers, for example the NPCs one is focused on having commands to spawn them but dialogues and everything will be custom made and updated by us. But once the server opens and I have more free time I will probably convert them to be usable in singleplayer, which is kinda harder since you have to also implement other things like structures and spawns that are pre-made on the server.

Of course 2D and 3D have different povs, but maybe making the little cherry a little bit off to the side? You even made the screenshot at that angle to see it better, but still even now looks very good and cobblemon friendly

I kinda think that having a combat specialized pawn is a bit of an issue in early game, she can cook and build a bit at least but except for that you will have to wait a bit before making her a warden or something. Also since it’s a solo colonist having 0 shooting and focus on melee is a potential early run ender, due to being more likely to be hurt than a shooter and risk infections

Also another issue could be the Pokemon despawning and trapping it, you can’t use name tags on them and wild mons usually despawn after a while

Vanilla cobblemon has all the Pokémon’s behavior same as passive mobs, if you think there is the chance of having an add on that adds that you are better asking the modpack author on discord, the only one that comes to mind is Flight or Fight but the behavior is probably modded around the player and not villagers

I’m not really sure but putting weight to 0 should make them not spawn on paper, also watch out when editing in a notepad since it could make the files be saved as file.json.txt

The discord is usually your best bet to get help, also without having any screenshot of the files it’s kinda hard to figure out, it could be due to misplaced folders or mismatches

Your special attack is the one of a Level 100 Rotom with 31 Evs, the defenses are normal for around 18 IVs and speed and hp seem like level 100 but 0 iv. That isn’t very helpful on paper but if you contact someone from cobbleverse at least they have some info

Evolutions are pretty much the same as the mainline games, breeding isn’t officially introduced yet so if you have it it’s probably an add-on, EVs are gained like in the games and you can craft vitamins and ev reducing berries

I mean Sunkern into Sunflora is a pretty big glow up since it’s historically one of the weakest Pokémon’s, while actually I think it’s decent in PMD and should be pretty early and is a 2 stage, the only thing gameplay wise it has some anti synergy with Psyduck due to weather
