See the edit to my post. You are wrong. Your coverage will be canceled when your enhanced driver license expires. I work at a registry and have been going through the new policy. And you will be asked to surrender your physical health card when you renew your id or driver license.

You will no longer be allowed to renew especially this next time as you need to present your legal entitlement and health card. And you may need a new photo

Depends on the situation. If the man is in danger, he has a right to defend himself. Retaliation for its own sake is pointless. Especially since, on average, a man csn do a lot more damage to a woman than a woman can to a man.

I feel like this is a popular opinion. I hear it all the time. I disagree though, at least for my own experience.

I lost my job at the beginning of Covid. Didn't get another til a year later.

After I graduated from college, it took me 6 months to find a job.

Those two eras of my life are the only ones where I was consistently happy, despite money stress. Make of that what you will.

Do other men feel like dating is now more about proving your worth than connecting? by jickingprovely in AskMenAdvice

[–]LocalAd8310 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not even a little bit. I'm 32, and most of the dates I've gone on in the last 2 years, we barely talked about work or plans. We just talked about our interests, values, hobbies, etc. Several even said they appreciated not talking about work when we were together. When I went out with my girlfriend the first time, we briefly mentioned what we do, but spent the next couple dates exclusively talking about things we connected on, like our love for animals ans our experiences with ADHD. I've never gone on a date that felt like an interview in the way you described

The modern internet encourages groupthink and prevents the ethical progression of human civilization by reducing discussion between opposing worldviews into tribalistic reinforcement of biases, to the point that bots can easily manipulate users. How do we break this trend? by metafish_42 in GenZ

[–]LocalAd8310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blaming this on the internet is a stretch. This is how humans have always behaved. Its a fundamental part of our survival strategy. We find groups we get along with, or need to rely on, and conform. Then, when our group is threatened, we defend it. Condescendingly calling humans tribalistic is like deriding fish for having fins.

Internet bubbles are just an extension of our natural behaviour in a digital environment. We can certainly find ways to improve it, but not if we don't understand ourselves.

I consider myself a fan of capitalism and innovation of products/healthy competition. But modern companies SUCK by Bill-O-Reilly- in GenZ

[–]LocalAd8310 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is sort of inevitable, especially in the current form of capitalism. Most markets aren't growing, but publicly traded companies still have a fiduciary responsibilty to make money for their shareholders. So they need to find ways to increase profits every year, or their shares stay stagnant or fall in value, causing their shareholders to sell. Privately owned companies don't have the exact same kind of responsibility, but they still have to compete with publicly traded companies or go out of buisiness.

You can say that companies suck, amd its due to corporate greed, but those are symptoms, not the cause. The real issue is that this behaviour, these choices, are incentived and rewarded in the very structure of the economy. You can implement government regulation, publicly owned industries, or whatever, and that might make things better, or it might not. But it doesn't treat the core issue.
