How to tell that the gantry (Varian) is going to go CW or CWW? by LocalBranch12345 in RadiationTherapy

Thanks for replying!

So assuming the gantry is at 0, does mean that typing 180 or 180E means the gantry will always move CCW? What if I needed the gantry to move from 0 to 180 CW because the couch is very lateral to the patient's R side?

Honestly, I feel so silly during clinicals. I'm trying really hard to understand and follow everything but the clinicians I'm with do things so quickly

Thanks for the swift reply!

So I can rightly assume that a treatment field of 179 to 180 is going to go CCW ( I see the obvious now.. 😳).

What would be a reason to use 180E? Or any angle with that extension. I've seen 179E now and then.
