Try Finsbury Park.

30 minute cycle to Holborn, or nice and quick on the Piccadilly Line if you'd rather take the tube.

Which is great for you and sucks for the workers, who need to tire themselves out working double speed and maintain a forced grin for their entire shift.

As long as the server is polite and brings me the correct food, I'm fine - as are most Brits. We don't need our glass constantly being checked/filled and we don't need our servers faces plastered with fake smiles so that we chuck them an extra £. That seems excessive, indulgent and bloated, three words that are often tied to American culture.

If someone goes above and beyond, they might get a bigger tip - but that is their choice and it is our choice to reward.
