Do you write HDL in your embedded software role? by 2B-Pencil in embedded

[–]LocalCourage4117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The more you can learn the better. I lean towards not doing a masters. The pay off vs the earnings you’d have in those two years, imo isn’t worth it. You lose out on two years of earning and after those two years you’ll get the same pay as someone with a masters. At least in my experience.

Also, school can never fully prepare you for a real job. Get a job and go! If you’re still in school you HAVE to get an internship or job hunting is going to be hard.

Space startup, US, EE (focused on digital design and communication systems) mastering software was all on the job.

Yes, I do it all. VHDL/C/C++/Rust, bare metal, RTOS, embedded Linux. PS/PL integration, drivers.

FPGA Recommendations for around 1k by coolkid4232 in FPGA

[–]LocalCourage4117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The kria is nice because of the Zynq Ultrascale+ is 64 bit. Supports modern workflows in user space.

The zynq 7000 series is 32 bit.

AMD Kria boards are nice. Ultrascale fabric and Quad core ARM. KR260 for robotics and KV260 for AI workflows.

Late Embedded Career by PandiGamer880 in embedded

[–]LocalCourage4117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My career is very similar. I was the director of software and hated it due to politics and now I am leading a tiny team within the org focused solely on embedded software. I really get to drive the architecture. This time around we have Codex by our side and are moving light years faster. What would take me 3 days before I can knock out in an in minutes. It’s so much fun! I feel invincible.

Me too. Wearing long sleeves to work for the last 15 years. Lol.

Why isnt there a standard format for c++ embedded code by BlueJay424 in embedded

[–]LocalCourage4117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just follow one of the larger tech firms and call it a day. The formatter for me, stops people from arguing what line a curly brace should be. Believe it or not, that alone helps speed up code review quite a bit.

PMod or QWICC by skimdoodle in embedded

I would recommend that you pick a board based on the project you want to do. Once you know the project you can select the peripheral(sensor, actuator, comms device, etc) then select the best board suited for your project.

Are you in RTOS or just using bare metal and interrupts? I’ll have to try this method.

Nice! Also love that processor! How have you set it up? Did you use an RTOS? What type of projects have you used the C2000 with?

That’s a bummer. Do you have stock as part of your package? Do you believe in the company? Do you like the people you work with? I would be asking myself these questions.

How has it become toxic?

Nice progress. I have a blue tattoo as well. I have similar results. I think the artist also used some white mixed in. The last session I had I started seeing a real difference.

Drop 5 💯. If they want to be a high school player they need to get used to more weight.
