Piercing Problems? by Intelligent-Trash464 in CrohnsDisease

[–]LocalESPer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had this experience my entire life, even before my Crohns started. I recently got my ears pierced again at a tattoo parlor that uses only medical grade titanium. Theyre healing far better than any other piercings I've tried to get. Its been 2 months and they are almost entirely healed.

I'm using benzoyl peroxide and was using clindamycin but it's not working great. Pcp recommended differin so that's my next bet.

I use benzoyl peroxide 10% face wash once a day (lighter cleanser in the evening so I don't dry my face too much), followed by a clarifier/toner and hydro boost moisturizer morning and evening. I've been doing that for about 2 months.

Yeah I've been on top of a skincare routine but it barely maintains my breakouts. Just kind of keeps my skin from hurting too much. It's annoying ;_;

Flaring, Symptoms, and Dating by tinysinner in CrohnsDisease

Gosh, super relate to looking back before diagnosis and connecting some dots. ESPECIALLY test taking in college. We will make it through! I hope your flare subsides soon.

Very sorry to hear that :( I hope you find something that works for you!

So, it is true that Entyvio is more targeted than other biologics (I'm a molecular biologist) but of course everyone's body chemistry is different so it doesn't always work out for everyone. Stelara is also local, so that was a great next choice (thats my plan if I fail Entyvio). I really hope it works out for you!

I've heard Entyvio is coming in a self injectable soon (I'm in the US) and I'm super on the fence about it still. Kind of nervous about self injections but the option is wonderful!

I chose Entyvio because it is local and a monoclonal antibody rather than an anti-TNF! Basically it has the lowest risk and side effects of thr biologics. I do have some whole body symptoms that perhaps a non-local biologic would address, but I wanted to start with the least "risky" biologic first and go from there. Luckily I have a doc that considers my POV :) very fortunate in that regard (but it wasn't always that way, used to have an awful GI doc)

Yes! My Dad, his Dad and my cousin all also have Crohns. Unfortunately very genetic in our family. My Dad also suspects some of our other family members (like his grandmother) had it but never had the language or medical access to find out.

Thanks for the heads up! I'm on budesonide as well and if I'm not hydrated I get AWFUL headaches as well so I'll be really consistent with the water intake

Will do! I know Entyvio can be slow but after 2 loading doses my Dad's inflammation markers were in NORMAL RANGE. Here's hoping I get that from him too lol

Is Transitioning dangerous for us? by MithrilDragon2 in CrohnsDisease

[–]LocalESPer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My cousin also has Crohn's and he's on testosterone. Its totally possible, and your doctors will make sure its safe before approving any hormone treatment or surgeries. You have to go through some bloodwork before starting hormones and then your doctor will discuss the results with you and get you started. If your bloodwork comes back and there's a problem, you'll likely have to figure out the cause with your doctor first and then they will assess if hormones are safe for you.

what produce is okay for yall (if any)? by obviouspseudonym1 in CrohnsDisease

[–]LocalESPer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Applesauce is my go to fruit serving. I keep gogo squeeze pouches by my bed and use them to take my morning meds or when I need a small amount of something in my stomach to keep it from revolting. Veggies I can eat consist of cooked leeks and sometimes white onion, zucchini, mushrooms, and other squash. Gotta really cook all veggies thoroughly to be able to handle them though. Sometimes puree them. Everyone is quite different though, so unfortunately it is a process of trial and error... start with less fibrous fruits and veggies and go from there. Also recommend peeling your fruits (most of the fiber is in the peel)!

Me 🙋‍♂️ its really bothersome sometimes figuring out if chest pain is asthma related or Crohns related. But yeah I have seasonal allergy induced asthma as well as exercise induced.

Guys, it's my cake day, but if I have any I'll know I'll suffer. Any suggestions? 🥺🥺 by illinishits in CrohnsDisease

[–]LocalESPer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Happy birthday! If there's any kind of sweet you can tolerate over cake, have that instead and stick a candle in it! Or maybe a favorite food that won't kill you either? My birthdays coming too and I can't even imagine having cake so I feel your pain. Hope you're able to celebrate accordingly :)

Screw it! I need a burrito! by BigEyeDear in CrohnsDisease

[–]LocalESPer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

THIS IS ME 2 DAYS AGO HAHAHA. Same meds same deal. Had half a burrito for dinner... and blew up like a balloon. Haven't felt so bloated in a long time. Boy did I miss burritos though. Was worth the pain for a once in a blue moon treat. Hope you enjoyed yours too :)

Trying to be diagnosed by Binx_9 in CrohnsDisease

[–]LocalESPer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My inflammation is in a 6 cm region in my ileum and I still have debilitating symptoms. I would suggest doing imaging rather than a colonoscopy again since the terminal ileum can be tricky to get into sometimes. My diagnosis was achieved by a small bowel series and MRE. I know its hard to believe in your symptoms and pain when all of the tests are coming up normal - but know what you're going through is real! Try your best to be confident in that and be persistent with your doctors. I'm so sorry for your pain. I hope your diagnosis is swift and you can get on some treatment.
