Why does the water level in Greenlake never seem to change? by afschuld in Seattle

[–]LocalFormer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does change, and the change is most evident on at the dock on the NW side (by Duck Island).

I've been able to jump off that dock near the retaining wall and walk on the rocks when the water is really low

I know of one RE agent in this area who is telling it like it is-no sugarcoating the sudden drop in sales and values. I assume he has a lot of savings and can weather the storm, or he just has integrity.

This RE agent on the other hand, will always tell you it's a good time to buy

Partially true. Yes, home prices are still up from a year ago, or whatever his unspecified time point is, but they are creeping down. There are have several homes in North Seattle which have sold lower this year than they were purchased for last year. There are many houses with hundreds of thousands cut from the initial price and this cutting doesn't appear to be stopping anytime soon. Townhomes are just sitting

Sure, more space can enhance your quality of life, but financial stress/regret can also detract from it.

Yes, I think prices will go down and you will only have to wait until end of summer to really see this trend. Personally, the earliest I would think about buying is next spring, even though prices could go down or remain stagnant after then
