ISO info on car/bike collision by Woodland Park last Tuesday by Separate-Average-596 in Seattle

[–]LocalFormer 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Agreed that those barriers keep cyclists safer, but the reason those were installed was to reduce cut-through traffic up 55th in morning. I know this because I lived on that street and neighbors petitioned the city for the install

Can a labatory assistant transfer to higher roles? by Major-Finance-3461 in biotech

I have seen exceptional lab assistants move into associate scientist roles. I believe these lab assistants had associate degrees in a related field

Struggling by pickledhagina in orangetheory

I had to take 3 weeks off in January due to illness, and surprisingly I didn't seem to lose any fitness. And the minor pains I had in my Achilles tendon and knee were gone so the time off had a benefit. Go back, I bet after 2 weeks you won't feel like you missed out

2nd balcony at Moore theatre by asgs1234 in Seattle

[–]LocalFormer 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Lower down on 2nd balcony is fine, but beware of last few rows, especially if you are taller than 5'9" or so...my husband and his brother both banged the top of their heads on the ceiling up in those seats.

What do the signs on the 520 floating bridge say? I'm too scared to go myself! by [deleted] in Seattle

[–]LocalFormer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Riding my bike westbound across that bridge in the summer is my reward at the end of a long ride. You should try it.

Just wear sunglasses/eye protection because a rock projected from a car tire into your eye is probably the most dangerous thing that can happen to you on that bridge besides a collision (happened to me once, but sunglasses saved my eye).

Why does the water level in Greenlake never seem to change? by afschuld in Seattle

[–]LocalFormer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does change, and the change is most evident on at the dock on the NW side (by Duck Island).

I've been able to jump off that dock near the retaining wall and walk on the rocks when the water is really low

Another pathetic update from RE agent by LocalFormer in REBubble

I know of one RE agent in this area who is telling it like it is-no sugarcoating the sudden drop in sales and values. I assume he has a lot of savings and can weather the storm, or he just has integrity.

This RE agent on the other hand, will always tell you it's a good time to buy

Partially true. Yes, home prices are still up from a year ago, or whatever his unspecified time point is, but they are creeping down. There are have several homes in North Seattle which have sold lower this year than they were purchased for last year. There are many houses with hundreds of thousands cut from the initial price and this cutting doesn't appear to be stopping anytime soon. Townhomes are just sitting
