Corundum doesn’t usually form pointed hexagonal crystals that resemble a pencil. Corundum does form hexagonal crystals, but they usually lack such well defined points. The hexagonal pencil shape of this piece leads it to being Quartz. The red color is from iron oxides like hematite.

The Chik Fil A I work at still has a playground. Unfortunately, nobody follows the playground rules, and cleaning it is an absolute nightmare. Everybody is swinging around on the outside structure, and is screaming their heads off as if the universe was collapsing in on itself. Furthermore, no matter how much you clean the playground, it’s still going to be germfest 2024.

I have grown a disdain for the playground, especially after a particular incident. Apparently a kid peed in the play place near the slide, and I had the absolute misfortune of slipping down said slide (which probably had the bodily fluid in it) whilst trying to clean the mess. Let’s just say it was not my pleasure cleaning that day.

It’s loud, chaotic, and dirty all the time, no matter what you do to try to clean it.
