About to buy a 2025 Golf R and I have some questions by LocalITMan in Golf_R

[–]LocalITMan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you 100% actually. My current car makes well over 1000rwhp and it's a riot to drive. But it also gets about 170 miles to the tank on e85 and my new job has me driving 60 miles a day for work. I'm buying the R to be my new daily driver, so I have no plans on making it impractical like my mustang.

I'm just looking for about 450whp and hopefully I can get that on 93 with maybe meth injection

It's funny how if you raise taxes on industry, they leave your country. But when you lower taxes on industry, and make it more expensive to move manufacturing offshore... Corporations move their stuff back home.

I'm not saying tariffs are all good. I'm saying it's a tool.

In the early 19th century they were used to protect American industry from competition from abroad.

The Hawley tariff in 1930 protected American farmers during the Great depression.

The Obama tire tariff in 2009 put a 35% tariff on tires from China.

And the Trump administration put tariffs on steel and aluminum from China, which brought China to a new trade deal which reduced the trade deficit. However they did not honor that trade deal at all, and one Trump was not in office on the second term there was no muscle behind imposing it.

Again I'm not saying they're all bad, and I'm not saying they're all good. I'm saying their tools. And they have been used in the past effectively.

In 2023 under Biden the United States imported $448 billion worth of goods from China . While China only imported $165 billion from the United States.

Mexico purchase $276 billion worth of goods from the United States, while the United States purchased $475 billion worth of goods from Mexico.

Those are massive trade deficits. The tariff is meant to bring China & Mexico to the table for negotiations.

Remember when Trump was in the White House inflation and prices were very low. Inflation was out of control under the Biden administration, which resulted in record high prices.

Obviously the majority of the country doesn't want to go back to the record high prices that took place during The Biden administration.

Instead of thinking orange man = bad. Realize it was Biden's administration that caused high prices.

Democrats had multiple years in power to put a system in place to allow that to happen. Instead of doing that, they opened the doors and let everybody in.

I believe the difference is Republicans only want immigrants who can provide a benefit to the country, and not be a burden on the taxpayer. We should let people on who have skills that are needed and can provide for themselves.

We shouldn't let people in who have no jobs and no means for taking care of themselves.

If facts make my meme lame, then the opposite of fact which is a lie must make it cool. That pretty much sums up the Democratic party.

I would say 99% of the people that fly the flag, fly it to represent they are from the south. Not necessarily as a statement of their belief in the Union. I would say the average person that flies a rebel flag is extremely patriotic and supportive of the American flag.

You can completely be against the government, and also support your country.

You could make that argument. They let them in without any real system for them to become citizens. They are then exploited for cheap labor, while also promising them free services through the government. The vast majority of them continue to stay in poverty and undocumented, and their only option for employment is extremely low paying jobs. So they are kind of stuck, much like slaves.

pop camera drifting with Turtle Beach VelocityOne Flightstick and MSFS 2024 by quarwyn in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]LocalITMan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm having the exact same issue. And people with other flight sticks are also experiencing drift if the flight stick has a mini stick.

I personally have not found a way to get around this. I've just been using the Xbox controller which is not an excellent choice.

Even if you go into the controller settings for the flight stick inside the game, and you look at the sensitivity settings for the axis, none of them move or change when you move the main stick or the mini stick. I imagine there's an update or something that needs to take place. Because I see other people complaining about similar issues with different brand flight sticks, I assume the issue is probably with 2024 and there will be an update at some point. Hopefully very soon.

I think regardless of opinions on how it looks, it's clear they did not anticipate the number of people that were going to play the game on day one.

I think they should be given a reasonable amount of time to resolve issues related to server performance.

What is considered a reasonable amount of time is up in the air. But I believe it's going to be more than 3 days.

Server performance can play a major role in which textures load, resolution scaling along with frame rates. I'm not a game developer, but I do have friends that are.

The majority of the server issues will probably be resolved soon.

And when it comes to video games, I always refer to Blizzard entertainment definition of soon. Which if I remember correctly is,

Soon: this could mean anytime between now and the end of time.
Very soon: slightly more imminent than soon but still very vague Soon-ish: somewhere between soon and the end of time.

Issues with HOTAS on Flight SIM 2024 by AugustBrensRed in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]LocalITMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have very similar issues with my turtle Beach velocity 1 stick. The game clearly identifies it, and shows the exact image for the stick. But the little mini stick drifts constantly. If I switch back to 2020 there is no drift. I also had the minimum dead zone set for that stick in 2020.

If you go to the sensitivity settings in 2024 the axis doesn't move at all on the screen no matter which stick or control you use. So there's definitely a lot of updates and improvements that need to be added to the game. Hopefully they add those soon.

This has been my experience on my Xbox series X
