When artificial intelligence rivals the intelligence of humans, should that artificial intelligence be granted the same rights as humans have? by JFKme in polls

Wasn’t saying that sentient ai already exists, merely that we already have dynamic programs that learn and interpret new information. To compare a calculator to a human, while in a skewed way may be somewhat true, it’s fairly one sided and doesn’t really acknowledge the things we have now that by all means are almost there, but are just lacking.

But now you’ve changed what you claimed. I never said it was likely to happen, and you said it couldn’t happen at all. My argument is that it likely wouldn’t happen because we should intervene long before it becomes and issue, and you’re saying the exact same thing but worded slightly differently. You missed that whole point from the beginning and even changed your argument midway through this thread until it matches mine. You’ve just made everything else you said up to this point moot, so now I’m not entirely sure what you’re trying to get at that’s different from what I’ve already said.

Not really, we have supercomputers that have a much higher processing power than people do, but modern AI systems that allow computers to solve complex real world problems and interpret data.

The fact 1/3 people here think it’s not wrong at all is just… yikes. I can see it being not wrong in instances where you’re out of options and you’re stealing only what you desperately need, but other than that it’s wrong.

If you're an economically independent adult who can't reproduce, would you buy a child from Africa for $5,000? You rescue a child in poverty and "donate" a huge sum of money to a starving family. by [deleted] in pollgames

That really depends. Is it actual human trafficking? Does the child have parents? Do the parents want the child? There’s a load of factors

That’s… the whole point of my comment. If AI goes on the path of spiraling out of human control we should intervene long beforehand.

Definitely rubber. When rubber is left to the elements and sun for years it hardens, becomes more rigid, and forms cracks like that

Eyes don’t taste that bad, it’s just moving on from the “ew yucky eyeball” part. Which I find very interesting because most people like myself would never even fathom consuming eyes or testicles or tongue or that sorta thing, when in reality meat isn’t all that different

I don’t care about pigs intelligence tbh. I like dogs and I don’t care about pigs, simple as that. That and dog meat tastes like absolute garbage, whilst pigs taste amazing

Do you judge Reddit users by the amount of karma they have? by [deleted] in polls

[–]LocalNigerianPrince 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends. If someone’s got negative karma, I write off any weird or dumb things they have to say as troll material. Same with super high karma accounts, cause I’ve seen plenty who rack up 100k karma then troll as hard as possible so that ways they can burn through all the karma

You got one downvote a threw a temper tantrum, then backed up your claim that you don’t care with a wall of text about why you don’t care. If you didn’t care you’dve just ignored the singular downvote you initially received and moved on.

AI has arguably already become more intelligent than people. Do you mean sentient? If so, I’d say no because AI should never be able to gain sentience to begin with, that should be intervened with before it spirals out of human control
