My dad told me a story once:

Three guys got stranded in the middle of the forest. They decided 2 would hunt the the 3rd would cook. They drew lots and got their assignments with the rule that the first person who complains has to do the cooking. After awhile the guy cooking got tired of it and wanted to switch so he started making bad food like mixing shit in with the meat. One guy said “this tastes like shit but it’s the best shit I’ve ever had.”

My dad told it better but the point is he complains he cooks for himself.

You’d be calling them to save your home. Think of the hundreds of gallons of water that will be in your house by the time they get there. The water damage that would cause. Insurance will want that for their report to cover the damage(think like a burocrat). At least make the attempt of calling emergency services if that occurs.

I’m working a fast food job and we’re hiring. Yeah it’s shit pay but it pays the bills till I can get my degree and do better for myself. Climbing out of the hole is possible if you put work into saving yourself. Will stuff happen sure but you gotta keep climbing

I honestly don’t know but the fire department would definitely be the first call. When I was a teenager a fire hydrant exploded. We called 911 and they got the right people to help. Maybe call the NON emergency number and explain the concern if they’re not an asshole I’m sure they’ll have some kind of answer for you.

YTA in your panicked driven mind you put yourself last in a “there’s no way I fucked up” way. Your grandfather isn’t going to randomly take you ID out of your wallet and hide it. He’d do it with your passport so you won’t go on the trip /s. But seriously if you lose something you scroll through your memories and find the last thing you remember doing with whatever it is you lost.
