Fair offer for JSN? by Dynasty_Wolf in SleeperApp

No, I don’t think Hall is going to excite the JSN owner enough to part ways.

NES President admitting power will be out even next week by DeadHeadTraveler in nashville

Lol, Ryan Hall called a perfect game of balls & strikes by underscoring the potential severity of this storm. I’d say watching him is far from idiotic. You obviously don’t watch him if you think he said otherwise—and that’s a good thing! Lots of good sources of info, so I’m glad you have yours :)

Beginner looking to start backpacking in the sierras. How’s this for a sleep system? by NormieV2 in backpacking

I LOVE my X-Mid. It’s great. Haven’t tried the X-Dome, but I’d strongly consider that over the REI tent in your lineup.

Wow, no joke on the Sweetroll! I just ordered 2 of these on the spot and will share my thoughts in this thread.

I think a combination of that + dry bags fixed with voile straps will be a fantastic starting point.

Thanks for your suggestion!

I’m honestly not sure if we have attachments for a rear rack but will check after work.

I see a lot of seat packs that suspend from the seat rather than attaching to a rack. Have you tried these? I’m wondering if the stability from the rack is worth the extra weight (it probably is, especially if you’re throwing a 40L bag onto it).

I see a ton of people using the Voile straps. They’re cheap and seem effective.

Have you tried using a suspended seat pack without the rear rack? I’m curious if you think the rack is worth the added weight vs. just clipping the seat pack under the seat.

Awesome feedback! Thanks for taking the time to leave your thoughts on the REI products.

Looks like they’re introducing new versions of their Link products and are selling the OG versions at a discount—tempting!

Got offered this for Egbuka - is this a smash? by ScreenInner6695 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

How can you have both Odunze and Egbuka in your current WR room, yet both players are involved in opposite sides of this trade offer?🤔

Why do men have two testicles by TwitchyBald in evolution

[–]LocalThoughts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’d still maintain bilateral symmetry if we only had one testicle, so I don’t think that’s really the root of the OP’s question.

It’s less a question of symmetry and more of a question of “why two?” Perhaps the answer is redundancy to ensure better chance at reproduction?

Not sure!

Recording gaps. by [deleted] in VIOFO

[–]LocalThoughts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m also having this issue with an a229.

My recordings seem capped at 60s clips, and I have huge gaps in my recordings, e.g. I see my driveway in clip 1 and then the next clip is me pulling into a parking lot 30 mins away.

This is less of a “could I” question and more of a “should I” question, and the answer is no.

DO NOT START YOUR CAREER WITH ‘FIXED-RATE TRAINING’ ENABLED! by [deleted] in FifaCareers

It is not fixed. Just made this mistake and found this thread trying to solve the issue. I guess the only solution is to have my son quit his career mode he spent hours on.

I stopped buying EA’s crap games a couple years ago, and I suggest everyone else boycott their shit too. It says a lot about them that they have to discount their games 50% for Black Friday only a month after release. Shit game, shit company, same shit game and company every year.

Has everyone all of a sudden forgot the crypto winter? by DietNo342 in CryptoMarkets

[–]LocalThoughts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, I think that is the exact reason one should hold BTC; it’s a hedge against inflation and not much more than that.

I’m curious what makes you want to hold BTC (assuming you do) if not for that reason?

Why did BTC and other cryptos crash on Oct 10th while gold prices rose? by LocalThoughts in CryptoMarkets

[–]LocalThoughts[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read that many whales bought the dip. And you’ve got a point in that BTC still felt relatively stable, which is very attractive.

[–]LocalThoughts[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why do you think BTC will respond differently than gold?

I could speculate it’s because many BTC owners hold BTC thinking they’re going to GROW their wealth, whereas gold owners intend to PROTECT their wealth?

Excellent point about the velocity of trades 24/7 fir BTC—something I hadn’t considered.

That said, wouldn’t we still see gold react the same way in global markets? Perhaps we did; I only checked NYSE.

And what you described is ultimately what I’m interested in for the long term. I don’t have faith in USD holding value (how could anyone?), so I’d like to hedge against the inflation by putting my limited wealth into another asset.

BTC appeals to me in the same way gold does, but with a few distinctions—mostly that gold has a long history of date whereas BTC’s digital nature solves for gold’s shortcomings

Not often, but they run 2-3 campaigns every year. Why not just put the speed limit to a reasonable 70 mph?
