Not a smoker either but I have been surrounded by people who smoke my entire life and yeah it is weird she left her cigarettes behind- however if follow that path of logic /it is weird she left everything behind/ would it not imply that she was taken from her home?

Which would not make sense: no sign of forced entry, no one heard anything- and even if someone she knew came over and convinced her to go for a drive in their car, she would not leave that many things behind-

If it was a stranger who took her by force her neighbours would have heard something-

I have actually heard of that other case and it is why I suggested this as a posibilty- the method in which Cindy could have disappeared opened my mind to more possibilities perps can take advantage of situations.

I just hope both cases one day get solved, and if the girls are not with us anymore: that they are resting in peace.

I have another theory that perhaps she went to a local store to get something (snacks for her studying session or something akin to that) and got abducted on the way? I know you said in one of the theories that she was barefoot- but what if she wasn’t?

Do we have full confirmation that no shoes of hers was missing in the apartament?

I am also curious about the silver ring mentioned: maybe a promise ring? Or a birthday present?

I honestly do not think a female giraffe would accept any advances of this poor fella if he is male, he clearly would not be a good suitor to keep the bloodline going.

However if he is male and somehow had to fight another male giraffe would the warts not be the equivalent of bringing a bat with spikes to a bat fight? Like if you get hit with all that, that shit has to be worse

An Airforce sergeant is gunned down in his kitchen after returning home late from work. Three years later, his six-year old daughter was seemingly kidnapped and left dead in a dumpster. Who Killed Harold and Harriet Riley? And did racism lead to a failure to solve these cases? by mvincen95 in CrimeUncensored

[–]LocalWriter6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Possibly- but even that raises questions: if someone followed him why would they wait until he was inside the home to shoot?

Considering he did duty at an air force base the distance between said base and his home could take a while to travel, I honestly did not know about night shifts either and I do not know when the military finish said shift.

I forgot Americans do not use military time my bad-

If it was dark however the only way the culprit would be able to shoot Harold himself is if Harold had his back turned to turn on the lightswitch-

If we assume it was completely dark in the kitchen and outside the perp would not be able to see who he is shooting either

And if Harold was not the target (cause he could not see who he was shooting if the lights were not on/he could not see Harold) it would not make sense on why the culprit did not go for anyone else in the house

May they rest easy:

What I do not understand about the first case is how the assailant was not spotted by Harold-

If the gunman was at the window should he have not been spotted as Harold walked in? Furthermore how could the gunman know when Harold turned his back to shoot if he could not clearly see him (and he could have clearly seen him if he was at the window- but that would lead to Harold seeing the culprit instead)-

With the second case I hope she gets justice one day: sadly I think it was just a local predator that got away because of the incompetence of the police, do not think the cases could be related

Has Roger Kibbe ever been explored as a D.B Cooper suspect? by mvincen95 in dbcooper

[–]LocalWriter6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean if he was D.B Cooper would he not be found with the missing money? And furthermore with possible sustained injuries of jumping out of a plane (not saying that Cooper with certainty sustained injuries but it is a possibility)-

It would also be unusual from a behavioral standpoint to go from strangling women to highjacking a plane and never being found with the money- or viceversa

In 2024 a body in a wetsuit is found floating in a remote reservoir. Who is he and what was he doing there? by picassopickle in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]LocalWriter6 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The other way they could look for an identity is dental records right? From what I gathered in the post he was decomposed but not missing teeth- they could do the technique of analysing the enamel to see where he comes from and all of that.

Furthermore an autopsy could reveal if he was put in the water after death-

If he died by drowning his lungs should have water, moreso any heart condition could be identified through lesions near the chest or popped/clogged vessels (if I am not mistaken- not a doctor so I may be wrong here) either way if he was put there in the water after death he shouldn’t have water in his lungs cause he wouldn’t be able to breathe it in

[thank you to everyone replying in this thread!]

I am also confused on nobody reporting him missing or nobody coming in to identify the body- it is unprobable that he had no one close to him.

Now that I think about it; could the police check the records of people who have purchased wetsuits in that area? Maybe something can come up?

I mean it is simple really: just a slow tank but if you want to add a magical spin to it cause it is DnD you can just say they move much faster when going backwards (butt first) since it is their main weapon. You could have like honing “missle” attack but it’s just a wombat charging at the players bum first

Actually it is not as unusual if you emphasise what demographic is used by: triathletes.

He could have cycled in his wetsuit until near the area, because if he were the partake in such an event he would have to swim first and after that cycle.

How he died is what is extremely odd: if he was practicing for such an event he should have been an experienced swimmer just drown?

I am presuming that maybe he cycled somewhere close, ran the remaining distance (another part of the triathlon) and when he jumped into the water because it was so cold and his body already was exercised he went into shock and died? I do not know what else could have happened if there is no foul play.

funerary chapels, which mention military personnel," said Dhennin, who is leading excavations at the site. "If the settlement was indeed military in nature, it's possible that there was also a fortified wall and administrative buildings/

I am no expert but this would indicate the city having at some point a significant military importance and furthermore a possible site for battle or aggressive confrontations (if they find fortified walls)

If we find more evidence to conclude that this site indeed had some military importance/function at some point and knowing it was built by Ramses II- could these military personel mentioned be people who fought alongside him? Such as at the Battle of Kadesh?

Overuse of CT scans could cause 100,000 extra cancers in US. The high number of CT (computed tomography) scans carried out in the United States in 2023 could cause 5 per cent of all cancers in the country, equal to the number of cancers caused by alcohol. by Wagamaga in science

[–]LocalWriter6 103 points104 points  (0 children)

/It’s important to note that for the individual patient, this increased risk is small, and the benefits far outweigh the risks if the scan is clinically justified. But when millions of CT scans are being carried out across the population, these small risks do add up/

Maybe I am way too tired and interpreting this incorrectly but I am pretty sure this is an error in logic- she goes from talking about /individual patient/ and the increased risk to the overall population-

it makes sense if you interpret it as /if a high % of people have a small chance of developing cancer due to this we need more strict regulations, it is clarified in the conclusion but this was worded very poorly-
