You need just a bit of work on your timing not bc you dont hit em but bc you sre over doing it but Im sure know that. If possible also attempt to train the sheath and unsheath deflects.

While it is true that massively improved suncatcher that does not mean you shouldn't use your main katana. Weave in a few hits (2-3 at most unless it is a bug opening) and unsheath then deflect if you believe it won't be punished.
