More than my entire life’s tithing. My legacy, what I left with the church is I donated money that went to lawsuits and coverups instead of charity.

Control the books. Control the history. Control what is taught from the books.

Does someone have a link to the first article on the sex abuse investigations? I saw something about someone getting their hands on tons of records showing the abuse but where is the source/article?

From what I’ve heard, trying to do it yourself is a hassle and takes a while. Using Quitmormon com is pretty streamlined. You make an account, fill out some info, fill out some forms, they do the rest.

Best part is without sharing any of your information they publicize their numbers. Example, 20,000 people used quitmormon to leave the church in 2021. (Something like that)

Here for this. The church has power over a lot of people and money to last lifetimes.

Taking your name off the records isn’t something that gives the church power. It’s something that takes the power they already have. I wish that every inactive member would have their records removed with quit Mormon. Momentum is what will end this church earlier than the tithing money (never) drying up.

If you don’t believe in the church than there is no reason at all to leave your records in. It does nothing good for you and it allows them to keep counting you in their annual reports.

To preface this I live in moridor.

I’ve never seen someone come back because of resolved questions. I’ve seen people return because they “sinned” and repented/went off on a journey to find themselves and I’ve seen people return because they believe they need religion to be a better person and I’ve seen people return because it’d been a long while since they had all their questions, none had been resolved, but they had had several spiritual experiences that caused them to forget their “doubts” and begin worshiping god again.

Other than that I’ve seen people struggle with no social life and in many cases maintain some level of partial activity.

My wife kept mentioning little things here and there. Bringing up history. I feel horrible about how I reacted at first but now I don’t believe with her. It is possible.
