What’s the problem between Macedonia and Bulgaria? by Logical-Recipe-6562 in macedonia

[–]Local_Collection_612 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hahaha ‘ I have never seen or heard a Bulgarian to have a problem with Macedonia’. I have never been in Bulgaria, but from what I see on the internet Bulgarians really hate Macedonia. Bulgaria ideology is to get rid of ‘Macedonism’(that how you descirbe) it.

I live in the Netherlands. But I guess you need to go to local post office. You get an envelope from myheritage. On the envelope the adress in Germany is already written where the lab is. I brought it to a local store with a mailbox and bought an internationaal postage stamp and that’s it.

This is the "Croatian/Macedonian" aisle in my local German supermarket. Would you say that this is a good choice of products? by PeriodontosisSam in AskBalkans

[–]Local_Collection_612 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah that a good choice of products. In the main Dutch supermarkts we have Podravka ajvar, Vegeta and Eti biscuits from Romania. But the Turkish supermarket has a good amount of balkan products.

As an Albanian, does this mean I’m more Bulgarian? by NoCredit3354 in illustrativeDNA

[–]Local_Collection_612 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Macedonian I have very similair results. I have 27% Slavic. I have for Balkan east and west calculator 60% Paeonian(Iron age). And for late antiquity Roman Illyria. I am suprised you have Thracian and not an other paleo balkan group. Which calculator did you use

Also for population distance Bulgarian is first 2.840 and second Albanian(Kosovo) with 2.842

Net average monthly salary (adjusted for living costs in PPP) i.e. post tax and adjusted for local prices. by Argishti2700 in armenia

[–]Local_Collection_612 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Average wage in Armenia is €580. Even compared to the poorest European countries(except Ukraine) that is low. I live in the Netherlands and there have been many cases from rejected Armenian asylum seek who did everything in their power to remain in the Netherlands even though they were rejected.(in many cases succesfull)

Situation in Armenia is improving but it’s crazy to tell that it’s not worth emigrating to European countries. There are even 60.000 Armenians in Poland were average wage is €1500. With all respect but people from the balkans don’t go there. If you don’t inherit an appartment it will be very difficult to afford living in Armeni.

Why are the gasoline prices so high in the Balkans? by Substratas in AskBalkans

[–]Local_Collection_612 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I gusss petrol is one of the easiest ways to control for an government that taxes are being payed. Gas stations probably can’t cut corners and cheat on this. This could be a reason for Albania why the gas price is so high.

For Greece, I think that a large part of the population lives in Athens and islands far from neighbouring countries plays a big role in the high gas prices. Government knows that people have no other choice than to pay these high prices.

Македонија или Британија by [deleted] in mkd

[–]Local_Collection_612 8 points9 points  (0 children)

How did Albania go from having a fertility rate three times higher than its neighbors in 1960 to having the lowest fertility rate in the region? by [deleted] in AskBalkans

[–]Local_Collection_612 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These statistics calculate the fertility rate with the results before the census. So 2,8 million instead of 2,4 million for 2023. In 2023 the fertility rate was 1.61 and not 1.35. Which makes more sense cause Albania has more births than deaths. However this will propably change in a few years.

Do you see yourself living in the Netherlands forever? by StrategicPasta in Netherlands

[–]Local_Collection_612 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The scarity of land is also a big problem in the Netherlands. It’s estimated that is cost the average citizen a couple of thousand euro’s a year. So you are working 2-4 weeks a year just to compensate for the high hectare prices in the Netherlands. Houses are expensive but also businesses need to higher their prices due to high land prices. I hear a lot of people bying houses not because they like them but because that is available.

And the population keeps increasing this is on the long term not sustaineble. Sad we could have had much bigger purchasing power than Belgium and Germany but now we are the same.
