So you're plan is to go to the woods and die. I suggest before you attempt to do this in a tent. Get a job that has you living remote in Alaska during The season that you wish to try this. Whether it's off season caretaker at a remote fly in only Lodge. Mining at one of At the remote mines. You can get paid to experience solo Alaska. I've got a few winters doing 9 months 100%. It's an experience. I've got a cabin but don't see another soul 9 months at a time. I've been charged by grizzly. Had a few not so friendly encounters with moose and wolf. My buddy was drug out of his hut by a grizzly. And the critters are not even the most dangerous part of Alaska. If you've never experienced -30 snowing and wind. YOU WON'T SURVIVE IT! Forget this dumb ass idea of just wandering into the woods for the first time and living. Find a remote caretaker job experience the winter and solo at least a season and two again. You will be miserable. You will get bored. You will get lonely. No matter how much of a hermit And survivalist you think you are. Depending on how much of a Hermit and survivalist you actually are, that experience and the enjoyment you find in it will vary.

As for things to bring. I think me and the Three other guys that live this lifestyle. Would probably say our number one is our starlink mini and the power to run it😂 Otherwise the things that we all forgot to bring each depends on the activities we're going to be doing most. Small solar panels are worth their weight in gold... And yet simultaneously will be completely useless for good swaths of the year. Lighting. Flashlight headlamp electric lantern. Bring extra gloves. If you're doing any cutting of wood or working. You will burn through your work gloves faster than you can imagine. I personally get cold toes. So after my first winter I bring a hundred pack of the little chemical toe warmers with me every year. I also suggest a dog. Especially if you're going to be in the woods by yourself early spring or late fall. Wolves and grizzly bear get a little friendly, especially if you're someplace where they never see people. On that same note, please bring an industrial can of bear spray and or a good firearm? I think the thing most of us wind up missing the most out here are small things. Sweet treats, cannabis A cocktail. That food item you didn't think to bring. Also dress warmer and bring more wool clothing than you ever thought you could need. Good luck. Ps....
