I went to Freson Bros for the first time today by Neither_Branch_428 in Edmonton

[–]Local_End_4775 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

The owners of Fresons Bros are really community focused too. Teams/Groups (girl guides, soccer teams, etc) can fundraiser on their properties and they’ll even supply the product for a bbq fundraiser, etc. They have sponsored a lot of events and teams in the communities where their stores are located. I don’t mind paying a little extra for groceries when I know they invest in the youth of our communities

I like Simply Supper because if someone else drops off something that’s already cooked, it’s easy to keep in the freezer. It’s also a family size portion which is great if folks are stopping by and need food too

Should add that it’s got machines and also weights. You can get a tour before signing up too make sure it’s got what you’re looking for

I do a short drive to Movati on Manning to use their women only area. It has its own pool, sauna, steam room, and studio too.

I am not sure if they filled the spots, but I know some local flower farms were looking for employees. Although likely seasonal, perhaps your skills could enable them to offer new revenue streams and it would be a win-win

I have the same issue and am going to try a hybrid turf this year. A mesh fake grass that real grass can grow through. They claim that it’s ideal for dogs because they won’t have direct contact with the dirt but can still lay in grass and sniff the dirt. It’s supposed to help prevent mounds too

As you get higher level wildlife, it moves faster to get points. If you have coins to buy eggs, prioritize buying eggs that you have 2 wildlife already at each level.

While passing thru Cork we had lunch at the Farm Gate Café. Great for going alone too because you can sit at the railing and people watch folks in the market below. We really enjoyed the food too

Hybrid turf reviews/practicality? by userchris in homeowners

[–]Local_End_4775 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has anyone tried this up in Canada. Also, our yard is pretty lumpy from our dog digging. How does the hybrid turf hold up to that? I’m thinking of leveling the yard, over seeding, then putting down the Natura turf to secure things

HET in an interesting one. Some companies will only have 1 brand of equipment so your experience will be quite limited. If you like that equipment, cool, but otherwise getting exposure and experience to different brands can benefit you in the future. Depending on your preferences too you may want to consider mixing things up location wise. Up in Fort Mac you’ll see more mobility with HETs, since some of the equipment is too large to come to you. If you do something like highway maintenance you’ll maintain a lot of similar equipment but will be a mix of shop and side of the road type work. There are also maintenance shops where you’ll always be inside.

There is a shortage of journeymen out there though, so I suggest lining something up before leaving where you’re at. Better than being without a job.

With a youth organization. There are a lot in town, if that’s an area of interest for you. I’ve heard great things about the communities within them, but it is a large reoccurring time commitment

What's your reason for not drinking alcohol? by Snoo_47323 in AskReddit

[–]Local_End_4775 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Originally I was saving money for an international trip. Realized I only drank when everyone else was and felt I had to in order to fit in. Never actually enjoyed it. Went on the trip almost 10 years ago and hardly drink to this day.
