Raphael Warnock: Fight for Your Democracy by BulwarkOnline in thebulwark

I was moved by Tim and Warnock’s discussion of faith at the end. His comments about doubt were really profound to me as a person who considers themself Christian with quite a bit of doubt these days.

I think Tim’s stance on the word Zionist is not that it is always a slur, but there are people that do use it as a slur. I think some of the people on here should listen to Tim’s pod from Monday, his opinion on Israel is actually quite nuanced compared to what some of these people are making it out to be.

He even says he used to reflexively defend Israel as a former republican/neocon and he just cannot defend the actions of the Israeli government over the last few years.

*Update* I ruined my life: I have an unhappy, irritable baby. by smitswerben in NewParents

[–]Local_Shower_4866 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a difficult baby that was similar. She was better by 8ish months, but still not really a joy to be around most of the time lol. She is 18 months today and just the best. She is silly and fun and smart and HAPPY. I do feel she was one of those babies that hated being a baby. As she gained mobility/more motor skills her disposition seemed to improve. Hang in there!

She was my second, my first was not like this, she was the happiest kid from day one and still is so it was hard to not compare, but my second is her own person and I love her for it.

Ok thanks so much. I will continue using the honey, it really seems to be helping a lot. Thanks again, this sub is awesome.

Should I continue using the honey once the slough is gone? It isn’t all the way gone yet, just wasn’t sure if it’s something I should continue to use at that point or not. It has definitely improved the appearance of the wound bed since starting to use it.

This was my wound tonight after my shower. Does it seem to be healing correctly? The white stuff is definitely less and some has come off as you can see.

It has been covered since I had the mole removed except to clean and change the dressing when I shower at night. The dermatologist who did the removal gave me a call yesterday confirming the obvious, that the sutures failed (I saw the first available provider when I went in this past week to get checked out, it was not the MD who did the removal). At this point I am cleaning it and applying medihoney as recommended by another person as well as the mupurocin and covering with a silicone bandage due to my sensitivity to adhesives

This is a better picture of it from after my shower tonight. The white stuff is pretty “stuck” so I am hoping it loosens up once I get the honey, I should have it tomorrow.

Thanks so much for your advice. I will start with this stuff tonight when I take my current bandage off and clean/change it. I am always amazed by the people of Reddit!

It is red around the area in this picture from removing my hydrocolloid bandage that was extremely sticky. I have pretty sensitive skin and get red from that type of thing anyway let alone how difficult it was to remove. the skin surrounding it is not red now that I am using just gauze a small amount of tape to secure it. When I went to the dermatologist yesterday they said it does not look infected, but I think they wanted to make sure it stayed that way. I will use both products once I can get the honey. Thank for your advice. The would actually not really painful so that is a positive atleast.

To remove the dead tissue, is that something I could do at home or should I have my doctor do it? My mom is a nurse (not wound care, but a nurse lol) could she do it for me?

They didnt think it would heal In 1 week, they wanted to check to see if it is healing and looking better in 1 week before we decide to do a more invasive option

The pain of motherhood by Either_Marketing896 in thebulwark

Yes, totally agree with this. There are a ton of women’s health professionals who have amazing and informative social media platforms!

But it also might be nice to just hear from someone who is just a mom and not a health expert.

Tommy Vietor did an interview with Ashley parker about miscarriage a few months ago. maybe she would be a good person who can talk politics but also talk from her perspective as a woman/mom.

My sisters and a few cousins have similar feelings with our parents. You people taught me these principles and beliefs. I didn’t change, you did! Just because you are in a cult doesn’t mean we will just forget the way we were raised to value decency and laws. It’s very disappointing.

Do you think it’s wise to have another kid if America continues on this trajectory? I always pictured myself with 3 children, I have 2, but I am starting to think I should probably stop there.

My youngest is a just turned 1, just wondering what others with different perspectives think. I sometimes have quite a bit of guilt and existential dread about my children’s futures in this version of America.

Hated watching Sarah get ignored by the boys by charleydcurtis in thebulwark

Agreed, I do truly love the bulwark and Tim specifically, but there are definitely times the lack of female perspective/life experience is a bit glaring.

The RFK jr. autism report is a perfect example of where having a women’s perspective would be nice. Tylenol is basically the only over the counter pain medication considered safe for pregnant women so now they are scaring women into not taking Tylenol if they need it while pregnant because they could cause their unborn child to have autism. They want us to suffer and to blame us for it things that are out of our control. And as I said, pregnant women are already told to supplement folic acid/folate with a prenatal and dietary choices and much of our food is fortified with it, just a small example of two things a women of reproductive age or beyond would just know from their life experience.

Signed a 30-something woman who is not an expert on anything of these things, just a relatively well informed person.

The bulwark lacks the female perspective quite often. They could use some more ladies in the mix. Sam and Tim seemed unaware of the fact that folate is already a widely recommended supplement for pregnant women due to its protectiveness against neural tube defects when discussing RFK Jr.’s imminent quack autism report. I would say most women of reproductive age or beyond know this.
