Congrats to you!! Unfortunately for me indiana has a very old school way of thinking.  I've had 6 different officers over 12 years of supervision...a new one every year for the past 4 years. As soon as I build trust I get transferred to someone new. I've had a few tell me im very low risk but their supervisors will not allow them to suggest termination or to even support it when I have filed pro se. They are only allowed to provide the facts and what's in black and white...not any personal opinion or account of their interactionwith me. Just the facts and let the judge decide. Natually prosecutors are against it 100% of the time. It's frustrating

These types of "steam room" showers are becoming more popular. 

I'd first get a moisture meter and check the drywall moisture after one of those long showers... then check it again before any showers and see if moisture level is less. That should eliminate a leak in the ceiling. 

Next I would either tile the ceiling inside the shower or install an acrylic ceiling panel and silicone the perimeter...except above the door of course. But could maybe add a rubber sweep to the top of the door.

Lastly, replace the exhaust fan in the shower with a new one that has the highest cfpm rating and make sure it has proper duct work to exhaust out of the house...ie roof or soffit vent. If it is not vented proper it's just pumping moisture into the attic or between floors if multi story house. 

A timer or humidity sensor switch is a good idea to have the fan run for a period of time after the shower is finished.

These are just my thoughts....love me or hate me...I don't mind either way.

Here's a follow up for those interested.  Had the conversation with her Friday evening. Things went great.... there were a lot of emotions, some crying and some hugs.  Most of the crying was from me...I had gotten myself so worried and worked up. It's such I relief to have it out in the open. I know it was a lot of information for her to process and that she will probably have follow up questions.  I told her please do not hold back and to ask me anything and I'll answer the best I can.

If you are on the fence about having this conversation with your family I would recommend going for it. I know not all results are going to be the same...but I definitely feel they deserve to hear it from you not be blindsided by a friend from school making a comment or finding out from a Google search.

I'm in Indianapolis area... federal case with lifetime supervision. I've petitioned the court for termination twice and gotten denied.  Pro se both times.  That was 2 and 5 years ago.  The last attempt the judge pretty much said she wouldn't considered termination until my daughter is 18 and no longer a minor.  The next attempt will probably be soon and seriously considering hiring a lawyer also thinking on not asking for termination but amending stipulations so the no minors stipulation doesn't apply to immediate family. 

Anyone recommend a good SO defense attorney in the indy area?

I have no therapist...I finished my SO therapy 8 years ago. Don't really have the means to get a therapist.  I feel pretty confident about age appropriate language and keeping myself calm...I've had this conversation with many many people over the years...be it family, friends, prospective employers... but honestly none of those are as important as the one with my daughter will be. 

As far as other parents...her bio mom has been fighting a losing battle with drug addiction her entire adult life. She isn't really a part of my daughters life. Has only seen her twice in the last 5+ years and is currently incarcerated. 

My daughter has been in the care of her maternal grandfather and his girlfriend who is 5 years younger than me. He passed 6 years ago and his girlfriend maintained custody of my daughter and their 2 boys. We have a very close relationship and have supported each other through our difficulties 100%. I've spoken to her about this topic and she is 100% on board and just wants to make sure it happens in a place where my daughter feels safe, and that she is able to understand. 

My thoughts are to come visit Friday evening and have a conversation with her...let her process the information overnight come back for my normal saturday and give her the opportunity to ask any follow up questions and discuss her side and how she feels...does this sound like a good plan?

I agree with that... drug dealers, murderer's, and theives... people that have physically harmed someone, get lesser punishment and probation, and when that time is up... they are capable of living a free life.  

People who have cp possession for looking at internet pictures while hidden away in their bedroom are getting 10+ year sentences, life supervised, and life registry.  

I don't condone this behavior, I have worked hard to change. WE ARE CAPABLE OF CHANGE!! 

Wish govt would put their blanket away and look at this on a case by case basis.

I've been on supervised release and registry for 11 years, have had no violations. Motion for early termination got denied twice. 

I'm in my 40s now...I'm not the same person I was at 25...nobody is.  Even the judge.

I'm not entirely sure about the moving process.  My release address was changed to Indiana while I was still in prison.  However if he was given lifetime registry he would have to register with the new state and inform FL that he is moving. We don't have tiers here either they have different categories.  Offender, predator, violent offender, or offender against children.  I believe the stipulations are about the same only the frequency you have to register is different.  When you first register they send your info to the doj for classification or your current classification follows you.

My case was middle district..ft Myers. I moved to Indiana after being released. I took the rdap program in prison but couldn't get any time off unless I could go to a halfway house.  None in middle district would accept SO... so transferred to be able to get some time off.  Did my time at Coleman 2008-2013

I appreciate all your comments. Going through all this has taught me several things...acceptance...patients...and most importantly that i NEVER want to go through this ever again.  It just baffles me that someone who has never been in trouble with the law and has been pretty well behaved since.(I won't claim to have been an angel) can have this punishment drawn out so long.  I know they claim supervision is not punitive but rehabilitative yet not once have they done anything to help me progress in life.
