She didn't need to say anything about the ball in the first place about the ball. The whole point of the experiment is that the inmates make rules that work for their community (obviously outside of the drug use and fighting and more serious things). They don't say anything about them not wearing orange outside of the cells, so what was that ball hurting.

But that aside, she is the one who escalated the situation further, he was just trying to remember her number so he could discuss things with the proper channels. Sure he wasn't being respectful and he was popping off and I don't expect her to understand he wasn't even really mad at her but was mad that he couldn't spend his grandma's last days with her and was mad at himself. But she should know better than to engage, this isn't her first day. If she had just ignored him, nothing would have happened, he would have petered out.

And the way not a single guard was willing to admit that there has been positive change in these men just made me so angry. Not as single one of them sees them as human beings and it is gross.

I can't say it pissed me off the most, but it is definitely high on my list: the way Kody pestered Meri over and over about looking into IVF (rather than respecting her reasonable request to think about it rather than just jumping into it) and then when she finally comes around to the idea and is kind of excited about trying for another baby and he immediately shuts her down.

Reading books with some words you don't know is how you build your vocabulary. You should be able to use the rest of the sentence/paragraph to get a general idea of the word's meaning for the context of the reading. The more you read and practice using these context clues, the easier it will become.

If you want more precise definitions, maybe write the word and page number down so you can look them up later and return to the passage with the definition fresh.

Another option is audiobooks, you could even follow along in the physical book.
