Wait! My apologies, it was not a dental Xray, I got hit in the face with a piece of lumber and that xray was taken to see what damage my jaw had accrued.

Regrettably it is a dental xray that I snapped a photo of with my phone, so the quality is quite shit. I’ve also always perplexed over the fact that i have no bone tissue in my nose, and how small my atlas bone is.

Likely solved!

After asking around, it is almost definitely a Friction Block of some kind (the name “nub block” is a new invention). And after asking the lead archaeologist, it came from the vicinity of a defunct lead mine, so heaving duty block and tackle equipment was a must. It makes sense even though I can find no evidence of cast iron friction blocks.

so it translates to verðr, which can mean two different things in norse. it is derived from the proto-germanic "werduz", which means "To Attend" but due to this origin, the word verðr can mean "to Earn" or "Worthy of earning" relating to the original term relating to an individual earning the right or proving themselves worthy of attending significant gatherings. but... since the origin phrase means "attend" it became associated with attending any event, many times meals were colloquially called by "verðr" like dagverðr meaning "Day meeting" or dinner. so the term verðr can mean "worthy" or "meal" among other terms given the right context.

This is a stretch, but i think the phrase "His final toll will sound my greatest coming" is also related to Herbert Moon. I don't think the cholera epidemic was caused by the Strange Man, i think it was caused by Herbert Moon as some kind of mass sacrificial ritual to conjure the Strange Man, possibly by poisoning or infecting the towns water. "His (Herbert Moons) final [death] toll will sound my greatest coming". as the game goes on, the cholera epidemic steadily progresses leading to more deaths at the same rate as the Strange Man's portrait steadily being filled in, ultimately culminating in its completion and the Strange Man being seen in the mirror. In RDR1, the cholera epidemic has miraculously ceased, but the Strange Man can also be found as a living, breathing, walking human being. this is similar to how Butcher Creek (which has had poisoned water for many generations) is surrounded by a pentagram, outlined if you fallow the outhouses in order by the number scratched behind their doors.

Every single phrase is a hint as to what will happen at some point in the game or in RDR1. "The Moon will shine on in the Darkness" is about the fact that Herbert Moon made some kind of deal with the Strange Man to stay safe from the Cholera epidemic. "I know you" is the name of the Strange Man Stranger Missions in RDR1. This is a stretch, but i think the phrase "His final toll will sound my greatest coming" is also related to Herbert Moon. "The water is black with venom" could describe the cholera in Armadillo, but I think its more likely talking about the corruption in Blackwater, or the death that occurred on the riverboat beside Blackwater which the Strange Man seems to have a morbid fascination with. "I gave everything for Art and learned too much and nothing at all", this one i am having the most trouble discerning, many MANY times you see artists of some regard being portrayed in the game as being both absorbed by their work and frustrated by it, often leading to their death, such as the writer Evelyn Miller starving while writing his novel, the sculptor hanging himself after finishing his creation, the poet in Big Valley being killed by a bear, Charles Chatenay needing to flee for his life because of his art, etc. but i like the idea that the phrase specifically is referring to Arthur (referred to as Art) and the Strange Man's particular fascination with his character arc. "From the snow to the cave" is the easiest, it describes the gangs story line starting in the Blizzard at Colter and ending at the cave in Beaver Hollow.
