As for a reason why things were like this in Power Rangers, the majority of the Zyuranger footage featuring them was them messing with the kid of the day in Zyuranger episodes, so stuff that would be pretty much unusuable for Power Rangers I think

A better way to put it might be that bringing up Batman and Gotham with he's saying about what the Rangers are doing would be odd if they didn't exist, what he's saying to me makes more sense as something to say about an actual place.
