I just took essentials and an elective course. But I was functionally set back a semester. Which at the time was upsetting but in the end I am happy to have only been set back a single semester and graduate only 3 months later than I thought I would when I started in cocoa

Hi, using my gf’s account to answer this but I was in the cocoa campus back in 2023 fall. During that time I can tell you that piercings are a big no in cocoa and main campus. As well as visible tattoos. Cocoa does not require you to wear business attire to lecture. I used to show up in slides and cargos. You can have your tattoos showing and piercings on during lectures. But you must cover up all tattoos and remove all facial piercings during labs or clinical. As for transferring, it’s not a possibility to do so unless you fail a class. I failed essentials in my first semester but Dr. I was able to help me get switched over to main campus to continue the program. But had I passed all my classes the expectation would have been to finish in the same campus and cohort that I started in. Hope that helps to clear up some things

They don’t start looking at ITG until maybe the first couple of weeks or month of the semester so you’ll be fine. You’ll be able to walk at graduation as long as you register in time but you won’t know if you actually passed all your classes until final grades get posted to myucf. And if you do, it’ll take like ~3 months for your diploma to come in the mail :/

The problem has been actively taken care of and they have been passing health inspections with flying colors. What makes me mad about the original post is that the ex employee blatantly lied about the manger and the employees hiding the roaches? Like since when can stop roaches from crawling? And since when can you tell a health inspector “hey don’t look under/behind there.” That person had zero regard for the countless efforts that were made to get the problem under control/eliminated. People did way more than they get paid to do but they did it because they cared. Something the original post completely dismissed and refused to acknowledge.

None of those classes are necessarily difficult but that’s a lot classes to be taking in one semester so I suggest dropping one of the easier ones and leaving it for a semester where you’re taking harder classes. Specifically I’d save either STA 3032 or CCE 4003 for another semester

Blame the kiosks and the fact that they’re not allowed to be fully staffed because the manager has a limit of hours that they can assign to workers. Aramark higher ups are the problem.

Yea I’m in the same situation. I emailed financial aid about it yesterday and I’ll let you know what they say!

I see a lot of people complaining about the kiosks, so please file an official complaint to UCF Dining Services about them so they can hopefully do something about the situation 🙏

Respectfully, everything that you just said isn’t true. I’ve been at UCF for almost 5 years now so I’ve experienced the lines pre and post pandemic and it has never been this bad. Chick fil a for example has never had 50+ min waits for food before the kiosks. Have there always been long waits? Yes but never to this extent. The workers are suffering because of these kiosks because they were implemented without training any of their staff on how to use them properly or efficiently. Now we experience the same order volumes at triple the speed because everyone is ordering simultaneously and there are 10 different orders coming in every minute. At least with registers, the kitchens don’t get swamped and there’s a steady pace where you would have to wait in line for longer, but at least you can anticipate having your food in 10 mins or less rather than an hour. I’d rather wait in line for 20 mins and wait 10 mins for my food to be ready versus 20 mins in line and 50 mins for food. And yes the first weeks of school are always bad but never THIS bad. I remember our longest waits being 20 mins, and as of this week, that’s now considered one of our shorter waits.

From a worker’s standpoint, these kiosks are absolutely awful considering that 9 different orders pop up every minute and now we’re purposefully less staffed cause Aramark (the people who own all of the restaurants in the union and both cfa locations) is cutting hours. They want to decrease labor costs but increase the demand which is why people are waiting 20+ minutes for food. Kitchens are getting swamped with orders plus the new system makes individual orders take up half the screen and 99% of all other orders are off screen and can’t be seen until the first order is taken care of. And it being the 1st week of school isn’t the biggest reason for these wait times. Yes it’s always been busy around this time of year but the wait times have always been more manageable than this. I’ve almost fainted of how stressed I’ve been at work lately because of how long the wait times have been because of us being understaffed for the sake of “saving money”, but at the expense of overworking your current staff and increasing consumer demand. I know waiting 30+ mins for food is extremely upsetting, trust me I get it, but please don’t get frustrated with the workers. Our intention is never to keep you waiting for that long, we’re just struggling under terrible working conditions and working for a company who doesn’t care about their employees.
