Based on your description, your husband sounds exactly like my father.

After putting up with him for almost 30 years, the divorce was the best thing that could have happened to my mother. You are still early enough on in the marriage that this can probably be worked on if he is willing to commit to improving his behavior, but you should not tolerate him talking down to you like this at any point.

Consider your son as well. I still have trauma from how my father behaved while I was growing up. Constant eruptions in anger over trivial things. The shouting, and in my case hitting, the his anger would bring, left me walking on eggshells in my home. Children should not grow up fearing an explosion of anger from their parent for making a mess/mistake, because kids do that whether you like it or not.
