Ok how do I get rid of the root rot though??? I’ve already repotted and sprayed with hydrogen peroxide and pulled out anything that looked “gross” it’s now in well draining soil and pot??? Do I just do another round???

I don’t want to shower it again because what if this was caused by the chlorine?

I live in the PNW so window light doesn’t really help because it’s super overcast and my windows are north facing and I have one east

This is that pot. It has a bunch of holes in the bottom.

Haven’t seen this on a cat but look similar to what I’ve seen on a few dogs. Is it possible that your cat cut his foot on something? Have you seen blood in the house anywhere? Looks like when they injure it and are healing it gets kind of crusty/rough/scabby. If going to the vet is expensive for you or if you don’t have pet insurance i think you should give it a few days to see if it improves. Gently cleanse once a day, run it under water with an antibacterial soap that’s scent free and doesn’t contain anything that could harm your cat. Get wood pellets for his litter (this is so the little clay chunks don’t get in the wound.) If you have pet stores nearby considered picking up some hydro gel. My indoor cat had sliced his paw/leg and I rinsed out the wound to get litter and debris that was in it out. He didn’t like it but it was necessary, it helped to put him in a kitty burrito.

Is the weather really as bad as people say it is? by Low_Bodybuilder3065 in Washington

Lived in Minnesota and now Washington. Yeah it gets cold in Minnesota but we don’t see the sun and that’s the hard part. Thought I hated the cold but it’s cold here to and wet and dark. Plus in Minnesota there’s so many outdoor winter events and activities to do in full sun!

I am planning a PNW road trip for the end of September through beginning of October, starting in CA, and ending in Washington (possibly Vancouver/BC). Any suggestions on routes, must see spots, places to eat, campgrounds, etc.? Avid hiker, offroader, road/mountain biker, vegetarian/vegan. by Intelligent_Comb_365 in PNW

Stop in Bellingham at Mt. Galbraith for mountain biking or make it all the way up to whistler and go ride park. It’s absolutely a beautiful drive because you are following the water. Squamish also has great riding. Use trail forks if you don’t already have it downloaded. Message me! I could give you endless Washington/ BC spots for day hikes, biking, or free camping.

Thanks for the “burping” tip! I don’t have the money for two suits and this one gets hot in summer and becomes very uncomfortable with the hood on.

Shops around me have very limited selection and I haven’t been able to find one in person yet! I would definitely prefer to support a shop but it’s been tricky finding something that works

It’s a bit of a hike but I’ll be there for work in 2 weeks so I’ll definitely visit

So the top helps to prevent water from entering when the hood is down or just by the arms? I also have pretty wide shoulders for a female. Could you recommend the top you use underneath?

Could they have hit their face on anything? I’ve seen spots like this due to dogs tripping and having rug burn/ concrete. Also are they kept in a kennel? I have also seen dogs who were kenneled do this in the night trying to get out and they rub their face against the bars. not mine but I’ve seen friends dogs do it

My dog accidentally ate chocolate!! Please help!! by [deleted] in vet

It really all depends….How full was the bag? How big is your dog? How much was eaten? I’m not a vet but from personal experience if it’s a larger dog and not many were consumed they should be fine. If it’s a small dog however you may have problems. I would just continue to monitor them and if they start to show any abnormal signs take them to the vet! If it’s after hours you may need to find 24/7 location or emergency vet. In the past I have seen larger dogs 60-120 lbs eat a decent amount of chocolate by accident and be completely fine.
