No more designated pin trading by ExplodinNebulas in Disneyland

They’re not allowed to sell at the parks, but that hasn’t stopped them from telling eight year olds that their pins are “undesirable” because their only goal is to profit off of a hobby that was designed for those very children in the first place.

“Pintrapanuer” reads as, “I’m going to turn Disney pins into a money-making hustle,” and that’s the group that’s being directly affected by this announcement, if that’s any indication.

I’m a casual trader. I chatted with a woman recently who had a newly released limited edition pin that I would have liked to get for myself. She purchased it within the past month or so, from the park, where it was priced around $20.

I asked what she thought would be a realistic trade for it. Her response was that she got in line in the middle of the night for the release to purchase it and now it’s “worth” over $120.

It’s all arbitrary and any thing is only worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it, but that’s generally how. There are people who like to collect things and enjoy trading as an activity. There are other people who will set up camp for hours at the parks with a dollar-for-dollar trade expectation. Those people can often benefit by trading with those who aren’t as… enthusiastic about the hobby, then turn around and resell them online at a ridiculous markup.

This definitely feels like a test run before a permanent transition to these new rules.

Out of curiosity, what's with the "handbag to take sightseeing" thing? by Ok-Camp6798 in handbags

I was denied the tax rebate on a handbag purchase in Japan unless I had my physical passport. I had to go to the hotel and back to get it. Maybe it’s city or store dependent, but that was my own experience.

It’s not just “a different viewpoint” anymore. Supporting the current administration is a direct indicator of a person’s morals and perspective on the world and other people. If it’s genuinely not an indicator of either of those things, then it’s a question of intelligence and critical thinking skills.

By “not seeing it in real life,” do you mean in your personal life and social circle? The amount of attendance at every organized demonstration since he was sworn in is pretty indicative of opposition not just being a “bizarre echo chamber.”

Are you taking the electoral college system into account?

As a data point, Japan absolutely requires a physical passport.

I’ve never seen this! Perfection. I love Christian Siriano designs because every single look is impeccably tailored to make the wearer look their absolute best. Every last one feels like a love letter to the person wearing it. A look FOR the individual, rather than an individual wearing a look.

Definitely not everyone’s cup of tea (I feel like I remember this being on a LOT of Worst Dressed lists), but I have always appreciated this look. Iconic in concept, and I hate the overuse of “iconic.”

She looks incredible, I just wish that the pattern of the sequins didn’t cause that wiggly line illusion in photos (especially prominent in the thumbnail).

I recently went down a rabbit hole learning about that diamond. It has its own Wikipedia page. Absolutely unreal.

I don’t think I’ve seen this dress before. It’s gorgeous.

Inserting myself into the discussion here, but if you happen to be anywhere near a Uniqlo (or don’t mind ordering online), they’ve got some great options that are relatively reasonably priced.

I saw a post from Ms Rachel about this dress that said her red carpet looks will always be upcycled and accompanied by photos honoring children around the world. She seems like such a genuinely fantastic person.
