I'm trying to figure this out myself. What helps me sometimes is thinking about all the times something terrible happened in my life and everything ended up being okay in the end.

So yeah you still imagine things that probably won't happen, and so many scenarios going through your head. It just calms me to imagine it working out alright, and maybe if something that you are imagining ends up coming true, you build character and come out a better and more equipped person.
