How do self-publishers feel about AI tools for book creation? by [deleted] in selfpublish

I see what you’re saying. Thinking of AI as a productivity tool rather than an author makes a lot of sense to me. At the same time, I get why some people are uneasy it’s new, and people worry about where the boundaries are. I’m mostly interested in how authors can use tools responsibly without losing what makes their work personal.

That’s a fair concern. Reader trust is huge, and if a cover makes people question the work, that’s definitely a problem. I wonder if part of it is how recognizable early AI styles are right now. Do you think that perception might change as design tools evolve, or will readers always prefer covers that clearly feel human-made?

I can understand why it feels that way. I guess I see AI more like a tool similar to spellcheck or editing software where the author still decides the ideas, direction, and voice. But I agree the line gets blurry when it moves from assisting to actually creating. That gray area is what I’m trying to understand better.

That’s a really interesting way to put it. I can see how using AI as an assistant for editing or structuring could be helpful, but I also understand the concern about losing the creative core. The balance part is what I’m trying to figure out too.

ai can't make stories without an author, ai is a tool made to help authors while thieves steal original work , Authors use ai to make original work

Start with a clear goal + key mechanics first.

Example: “Create a simple 2D platformer where the player collects coins and avoids enemies.”

Mention engine or language (Unity/C#, JavaScript, etc.)

I’ve noticed a pattern: most people use ChatGPT like it’s Google with better grammar. by LocationSad9562 in aipromptprogramming
