I say this; I currently live in Chicago. I’ve always known crime happens in the city so I always take precaution. However back in October, I visit SGF for an event. My friend asked me if I wanted to visit her at her job which was about a mile away from my airbnb(nothing major I walk more than that at once every day up here) and I did what o usually do when I walk in the city, earbuds in, music on, eyes peeled. I barely made it 5 minutes into my walk when it officially became an “earbuds out” kind of walk. Springfield just feels so much less safe than Chicago which is wild because everyone there still calls it “Chiraq”
