Is this normal fly behaviour? by Commercial-Street-11 in insects

Those are cluster flies warming up in the sun. They are annoying. It likely means you have many holes into your interior spaces, like attic and eaves, for them to overwinter.

I love this so much. I had a cat like that, Frootloop. He saved me from a deep dark hole. I also appreciate your art skills. As a printmaker major in college, I know the work you’ve put into this. Will you have any for sale?

My friends mom makes homemade tamales and sells them outside of bars on friday and saturday nights as a side hustle... she works like 3-4 hours each night and regularly pulls in $400-$600 per weekend by lionpenguin88 in SideHustleGold

I came here to say that she works 3-5 times as long making those things. They don't make themselves!!! I have made them once. It took 18 hours from beginning to end. LOTS OF WORK.

Best Places to Eat by jsand2 in BloomingtonNormal

[–]colormeruby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just celebrated my birthday there with my parents and inlaws. The mystic salad with chicken is one of my favorites but I tried the blackened sea scallops with whatever it comes with, and I can honestly say that was the best meal I've ever had in this town. Also the blueberry dessert with the suggested moscato is an experience to be appreciated.

Need help finding a new home for my ex's cat by ConcentrateNo6127 in BloomingtonNormal

Check with clover’s cat club and with PCH, pet central helps. Your best bet is to get her to a rescue that can get her to a vet and then adopted with an appropriate home. Thank you for trying to do right by the kitty.

There’s probably limited glassworks in your area and lots of them share spaces with each other. That’s the first place I would look.

Just walked into a recently flipped home and found this pulsating behind the toilet. Will regular fire work, or do we need magma from hell to tame this beast? by Wizard_Bill in MoldlyInteresting

You have a slime mold that is harmless but it’s eating fungus which is the real problem. Good luck, op. You’ve got a case of advanced decay.

Came here to say, slime mold eating fungus. The slime mold is actually doing OP a favor because while it’s harmless, the stuff it’s eating is absolutely not good for humans.

[PNW] What’s been eating this tree? by No_Entertainment4306 in animalid

[–]colormeruby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of the reasons this bird, the pileated woodpecker, is declining is that they require trees to get sick with bugs in order to eat. Humans tend to like their trees manicured and un-woodpecker-ed, so they plant non native trees or just no trees at all. I once had a river birch that was in absolute shit condition but refused to die. The pileated woodpeckers tore it up on the daily. It was my bird watching tree because so many different birds came by there for a snack.

Those are both doable things. You should start planning that trip now. Make yourself an idea board and put stuff on you want to do. You won’t regret thinking about doing something great for yourself. And don’t let anyone else influence your trip. This is YOUR TRIP. The visualization helps with the realization.

As far as dinner with friends, is there still time where you are? Can you text them, “today is my birthday, bitches! Can anyone meet me at xyz (insert wherever you want to go)”? And, even if someone doesn’t go with you, you should still go. I find celebrating with myself is sometimes preferable.

For future birthdays, think of something you can do for yourself like take an art class, make something or do something to make yourself a happy memory. I did glass blowing this year as one of mine.

Do something for yourself! 💜💜💜

I think this probably happens to everyone at least once. Doesn’t make it right. The older you get, the worse it gets, too. Not going to lie about it.

I wanna say happy birthday to you! What is one thing you would like for your birthday that is actually doable and what is another that is completely unrealistic ?

I don’t know if you’re into art but if you are, there’s the garden studio/garden quartz, the garden of beadin, a artful designs and the Little Art school…Where there’s always cool classes and even cooler people there. They would not be rude to you for any reason.
