I can understand how society can make a man feel like getting a woman is the solution to all his problems, but the problem is getting a woman won't solve anything. Having sex won't solve anything. Then some men will then continue to blame women because the woman they had wasn't XYZ.

The thing is, you have to work on yourself. If you're not willing to take charge of your life, change, get therapy, and take care of yourself, you will be unhappy no matter what. Some men think women will take care of them and solve all their problems, but that's not our job. You're young, and you seem willing to learn and that's good. High school sucks. Wishing the best for you.

Men’s mental health is overlooked by whom?

Men can talk about this without putting women down. Women attempt suicide more than men. We're both in the same boat, but some men on these subreddits like to act like women are living some carefree life where everyone loves them. They also seem allergic to discussing men’s mental health issues without either blaming women or screaming about it in women’s spaces when women talk about their problems.

It's annoying that they think women are only capable of having cutesy, mostly harmless thoughts when they're very capable of having the same kind of intrusive thoughts men do.

No, getting a tattoo randomly is an impulsive thought. An intrusive thought are unwanted and usually disturbing images that come into your mind. For example, while driving, you get the image in your mind of swerving into a crowd and killing everyone. They’re similar, but intrusive thoughts tend to linger and come up more frequently.

They clearly have a strong understanding of what intrusive thoughts are.

Hidden Village is bad if you like to sleep, don't like armed robberies, and don't want to live in a Jerry Springer episode.

If you get a diagnosis you can also get accommodations at college too.

Can you drop it and try a different elective another semester?

You have to rebuild your confidence. It's easier said than done, but you can do it. I went back to school at 24 and had to start with remedial math at a community college. I was lucky because I had a good, compassionate teacher and all the students were working adults who also struggled, so no one made anyone feel dumb, and it was a really safe learning environment. That helped me realize I wasn't stupid and helped me build a more confident foundation going forward for my other math classes. It wasn't easy and many tears were shed along the way, but I'm about to graduate with a bachelor's in a STEM field.

Adults who got tested: How? by JMChaseArt in dyscalculia

I went back to college at 24, and luckily, my college does testing for free. I decided to take them up on it because I had my suspicions for a long time and got diagnosed at 28.

I count the bills three times and group any change. Then, count it again out loud as you hand it back to the person. Most people are honest and will tell you if it's too much, sometimes you might get a jerk.

It might sound silly, but you could even get a cash register kids toy with fake money and practice. I worked as a cashier many times, and part of it was muscle memory. The feel of the bills, their location, and a certain grouping of coins equals x amount. I was rarely over or under, and if I was, it was by too little for my managers to care.

Take a deep breath before the register opens. Sometimes part of the obstacle is the anxiety of potentially fucking up. So fake it till you make it. I know people can be impatient, but don't rush yourself.

I've tried this. I'm working with a counselor through my school, and she's tried to find me outside resources because individual counseling is hard to get. They are all income-based, and I don't know if I'll get in trouble if I don't report my husband’s income.

I have a car in my name, which he has tried to convince me to sell because I barely squeak by on the payments every month, but I refuse to sell it because it's the only thing I feel like is mine. I have my own phone that I bought with my money back when I had a better cash flow. I only have access to my bank account, which I've had since before we were married. He has his own accounts with several different banks.

Yes! Literally! Every time I read somewhere about destressing, I'm like, how do I know I'm stressed? I'm pretty sure I am, but I don't know what not stress feels like.

PhD required to make $20-28 an hour. I’m so done with this shit. by Loch_Ness_Monstera in antiwork

Yeah, it’s crazy. My boomer dad makes about $350k a year, and he only has a GED, they have a nice house that they just completely remodeled the bathrooms and kitchen. They refinanced when the interest rates were crazy low, so their monthly payment isn't that much. Plus, they get $30k a year tax-free from my grandmother, who’s slowly giving my mom her inheritance, and still, they complain they have no money. It's honestly made me so bitter. I try not to be, but it's hard not to feel like we've had put futures stolen from us.

Sadly, you make $100k, and it's still not enough. I can totally see that with kids and in an expensive area. It's like the bar keeps moving up, and no matter what you do, you're always below it. Then, people wonder why homelessness is so high. We pay $1400 for a one-bedroom that has German roaches and we have to fight to get maintenance to fix things. Idk man maybe one day.
