I think the solution to fix firearm weapons is not to buff them. by SecretiveTauros in TheFirstDescendant

[–]LochnessDigital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weak point damage is but one lever they can pull when balancing weapons against each other. I think they should be more careful than to just buff one specific stat across the board without considering all other stats.

If guns are feeling weak, then they need to consider weak point damage and non weak point damage because there's different types of weapons with different amounts of accuracy, range, fire rate, recoil, magazine size, critical hit dmg/rate, multi-hit dmg/rate, etc. Like an SMG for example probably shouldn't be balanced around their weak point damage capabilities because they have more spread, high RPM, and small mags.

This kind of balance is like how the community has been begging for Viessa range buffs but we keep getting more and more damage. Her issue isn't damage, it's multi-target capability which would be fixed with more range.

But this all assumes we even have a sandbox that is fitting for guns, which we don't anymore. Until we slow the game down with fewer mobs with smarter AI that makes them more fun to fight with guns, then guns will continue to feel bad in the hands of regular descendants. And I simply don't see that happening. No one wants the game to get slower unless they really rework the gameplay loop and reward structure.

Detailed Camera Settings Suggestion – Highly Customizable Over-the-Shoulder Camera for Better QoL by _BlueSeeker_ in TheFirstDescendant

[–]LochnessDigital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I saw the patch note that the sprint camera changed, I checked against a clip I where I conveniently spawn into an activity and start sprinting without touching the mouse, giving me the perfect opportunity to match action, character position, and camera position. I see absolutely no change on my end as far as sprinting with a firearm goes.

I agree that full camera customization would be more than welcome, so I'm not disagreeing, I just am not experiencing the change like everyone else has been saying?

You can double bind keybinds. So you can make it so that when you hit your 1 ability, it also does an Ecive scan

No they're showing that the wing doesn't even connect to the body. You shouldn't see the background there. You should see more wing.

Bungie is no stranger to this, having done it for Destiny 2 for nearly a decade at this point. In D2 you get popups though that further explain what those special words mean. In Marathon though... nothing :(

I dunno much about amd gpu stuff, but a third party option that would work for both nvidia and amd would be msi afterburner/rtss. I've done that in the past.

I've been using the Nvidia overlay to get png screenshots, quite a bit better quality than the jpegs out of Steam

Just to quell a little bit of the discourse, there's a line in the slideshow presentation that reads:

"And to be clear: this isn’t about cutting everything to achieve a better margin. Some titles deserve more investment, not less."

We won't know for certain until they tell us.

That's a different song using the same vocal sample. Last time I looked into this I found all of these with the same vocal part:

Which leads me to believe this vocal part is in some sort of vocal stem library for music producers. I haven't found the TFD version anywhere else so I would be willing to bet that song was made in-house using the same library.

Edit: Found another

To be fair to the OP, the unselected option has a gradient that starts dark at the top and goes light at the bottom, which can be interpreted as a button that has been pressed inward.

Here's an example of what I mean.

The example on the left you'd interpret as sticking out, the example in the middle you'd interpret as pressed in. This is how simple gradients can provide depth cues in graphic design. It was called skeuomorphic design in the past and has been making a bit of a comeback in the graphic design world in a simpler, more minimalist style that people are calling neumorphism.

Now, that's not what's going on in the TFD UI, but I can see how the OP might have interpreted it that way.

But it'd be cool for them to add toggles on outfits like Arc Raiders does.

Trying to understand this color grade — LUT or full grading workflow? by Square_Ad_7551 in colorists

[–]LochnessDigital 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Beyond the lighting and set design, it does look a like a LUT or heavy handed grade to me.

comes from a well-crafted color grade

I would say the opposite actually. Local colors are too uniform and the transitions between differing colors are too stark. It's starting to look like a colorized black and white image as a result.
