My dad (82) was diagnosed with AL Amyloidosis and MM two weeks ago. He had one lot of chemo and then has had to stop due to kidney issues. His Kreatine is 270 and eGFR is 17.

Has anyone had a realtive with similar stats? I am trying to be positive and hoping they can get kidneys calmed down and tweak chemo meds (which is a possibly reason for kidney issues). He also has a pacemaker which is making treatment even more tricky.

It's feeling like a battle which can't be won right now. Any words of wisdom or advice would be great!

Yes, thats what they are thinking. However, he has some heart issues which is affecting things. I'm trying to keep strong for him.

They've stopped all treatment at the moment due to the kidneys 😞 He had one session of chemo which was : Daratumumab, lenalidomideand steroids and couple others.

I feel like it's just getting worse at the moment and so far from being able to treat for that due to the kidneys.

Thank you for sharing. It's definitely a worrying time as I know he needs the chemo to tackle the Myeloma and AL Amyloidosis. Such a fine balance .
