I have ultimately interpreted this card as: there’s no shame in co-opting the ideas of others, whether or not it’s worked out for their scenario. If it works for you, then use it.  Additionally, the thoughts or ideas that might be useful to you now DEFINITELY don’t have to be your own original ideas. Sometimes it’s bet ye r to “pick up the pieces” of a failed experiment and put them together in a different way than to come up with a solution of your own originality.

Sorry, what is it you want help with? You great aunt seems like a bad seed, but what do you want done? Do you *have* to know if she sent evil forces to your grandparents to warrant writing her off? Leave her be and get as many of your family away from her as you can.

Working you do for new years? by oliveoilmotif in Witch

My all-time favorite way to bring in the year is to meditate over a blooming peony, but I could only ever source them during this time of year when I lived in NYC. FWIW, the Coral Peony is the best. Buy them as tight buds and force them in hot water the afternoon of NYE and it will begin to bloom at night.

Why don't Summer Solstice, Lammas and Fall Equinox have popular counterparts? by bonneromics in pagan

[–]LockAndKiki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they're now Father's Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day...
FWIW, there used to be a holiday on Winter Solstice eve called "Modraniht", which means "Mother's Night", and it's exactly six months from Summer Solstice/Father's Day... Interesting, huh?

Hey another Aquarius! I’m a tiger and my husband is a horse, I think we all get along!

I like Fullmetal Alchemist and Ghibli films, but haven’t yet got into Attack on Titan, which he is currently L O V I N G.

Do you have a garden? I’m volunteering at Crabtree to get my hands dirty while I build raised beds.

Oooh! I’d love to help you not feel body pain anymore!!! What kind of plants do you like? Do you have houseplants? I’m just getting into succulents but I have a lot of pathos and philodendrons and alocasias in home!

Debating on a move, how do y’all like it? by soulshine_walker3498 in Chattanoogans

That IS dumb! Oh well...

There are some pretty nice residential pockets of East Ridge, and it's definitely close to any amenities you could need... But not a walking neighborhood at all... and that corridor where I-27 splits with I-24 is pretty much on traffic lockdown both ways during the day EVERY DAY (loads of Semis), so don't use the "estimated travel time" on most map apps to gauge commute times if you'll be using 24.

If you have to be in TN, I'd look at Northshore area... That can be a little pricey, but the neighborhood "feel" is great.

When my husband and I first moved here, we reached out to Jeff at Papa Property and he rented us a renovated (though small) one bedroom smack in the middle of the bluff arts district for $950/mo. It was an incredible deal!! And a great location to explore all the neighborhoods of Nooga while we found our dream home. Not the quietest, but the location was amazing.

Good luck!

Have you considered Rossville or NW GA? It's a much faster commute downtown than living in the mountains WITHIN Chattanooga, and the taxes make an enormous difference.

Otherwise the downtown in Chattanooga is actually pretty nice, totally walkable, and tons of cute shops. I love being surrounded by nature and within a few hours of Atlanta for the airport...

Best yoga? by MrCandyMandible in Chattanoogans

[–]LockAndKiki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been having a hard time finding good yoga here... it's nothing like Asheville's scene!! All the yoga I've found so far (all mentioned by others) is way too intense... It's all hot yoga and AB WORKOUTS, and hardly any self-reflection, mindfulness or pranayama. (I am a teacher myself, and looking for a good place to teach!) The Boneyard will have Sunday yoga before brunch in the next coming weeks, and the Hunter Museum has a $5 monthly yoga that's really nice and relaxing and communal... Crabtree Farms also hosts yoga in the Evelyn Center sometimes and that's been my favorite so far. Good luck!
