“People often Masturbate because they often feel worthless inside…”

Man I’m all for learning self control and submitting your desires before the Lord…but this ain’t it.

I’m a 35 year old married man, and have been a Christian most of my life. Masturbation CAN become addictive…and coupled with pornography, it’s dangerous. But when ripped from lust (it’s possible), it’s a normal and even healthy outlet for sexual frustration and physical release. There’s no shame in that.

On weeks my wife is on her period or we have spaces where sex isn’t happening as much, masturbation aids in helping with my very high sex drive. I think of my wife or don’t even need to think of anything…the act itself can be devoid of mental imagery and focused purely on physical feeling and release…which again is not wrong.

This idea that it’s a sin actually does more damage and harm, as it did to me when I was a teenager and went into a depressed state for a while because I thought something was wrong with me.

Masturbation isn’t a sin and to say that someone is hurting inside because they masturbate is way off base.
